Lighting up a small portion of a galaxy does not mean much. Nobody in the vicinity of that punch was even injured except the guy getting punched. It was just a giant light show.

It should. In fact, it should have blinded everyone in that sector of the galaxy but it did not (or at least it does not show anyone blinded by it). This is a major problem with anime and manga, their crap just does not make sense. They did that scene with a big giant light explosion and if you think about it, it really is just a big useless showing of nothing except that it proves he can kill one guy with his biggest falcon punch ever.
