Can Captain Cold's field and gun stop the Juggernaut?

@colanicole: Well the juggernaut supposedly cannot be stopped, but Captain Cold's gear operates at absolute zero, the temper ute where there is absolutely no movement, at all

#4 Posted by ColaNicole (574 posts) - - Show Bio

@gumflabica: Well you may be right. I suppose it's like an unstoppable force vs an immovable object. I guess it could stop the Juggernaut giving it thought.

@colanicole: But could Cytorrak's power overcome the laws of science? And I never saw blob as an immovable object, just a gravity manipulator. If he were to make his gravity field, juggy would simply take the ground below him and keep on moving

Juggernaut have very little trouble facing Iceman who can reach absolute zero temperatures.

Juggernault already counter Iceman attack at absolute zero.

@homicidalmaniac: but does Iceman reach absolute cold all the time? From what I remember he only got that cold after something special happened, or he could only get that cold if he were to reach his full potential as an omega level mutant

Absolute Zero can't stop Flash and he's hardly unstoppable. Absolute Zero is kind of a misnomer. If you reduced a single atom to absolute zero everything in the vicinity doesn't stop, energy from around will be sucked into it until it reaches equilibrium. Just like how Cold's gun can be countered with heat (Heatwave) or enough energy (Flash running really fast), Juggernaut can push through it because he has more than enough energy to overpower the energy being sapped from him by cold's beam/field.

Just because Iceman said the words absolute zero does not mean he does that. I mean, the feat itself was Iceman putting Juggs in a block of ice -- the same thing he does every fight. There's little other proof, unlike Cold who kind of has the showings of stopping infinite mass super beings in their tracks.

I' don't feel like debating today, but I say this.Comics do(more for Marvel in this one)bend physics and make up it own science.Iceman going to absolute zero is going to be different than it really is.You can disagree with as you like.

Juggernaut is also protected by cytorraks force fields so i don't see cold doing much to him.

Juggernaut walks right through Cap Colds attacks & than beats him to death.

Cold. The moment juggs runs into the cold field he becomes immobile.

Absolute Zero affects what? Atoms?
Too bad for Captain Cold, for the human Juggernaut is NOT MADE OUT OF ATOMS.

He's a walking Crimson Bands.

juggernaut isn't bound by all the laws that everyone else is since his powers are fueled by magics

Cold. The moment juggs runs into the cold field he becomes immobile.

Juggernaut. The moment juggs runs into the cold field he will still be protected by his forcefield.

Even if he does get stopped, Cain will just use magic to pull Leonard closer....

Cold has no way to stop the Juggernaut.

Im pretty sure that momemtum would help juggernaut plow through if he couldnt do so anyway, so i would say that juggernaut would win

Then how will he get through it without being frozen? Juggs would be frozen at absolute zero, so he won't be capable of thought.

Reaching absolute zero stops molecular vibration, it has no effect on how objects move.

Reaching Absolute zero does not stop: Momentum, time, or even keep something from moving.

Juggernaut charges, hits the field, and keeps going stomping a hole in CC as he does it.

Did you miss the part about the impenetrable forcefield? The Field will never touch him.

It's amazing how overrated captain cold absolute zero field is.

What's overrated about Absolute Zero besides your opinion of overrating them?

The better question would be how long will. Cap cold last before jugs kills him. Btw didn't Cain get replaced peter or did he get his powers back.

#33 Edited by lukehero (7308 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeah it could stop him, but it wouldn't last forever. At the most stop him for a 1 min or 2. Or if Juggs Thunderclapped him he could just knock Captain Cold's gear over.

For a number of reasons: no.

First up, Cold's abilities are rooted in science while Juggs' are based on magic, and magic usually trumps science.

Secondly, Cold's field is (or was) primarily there to make Cold able to see the Flash, the field never stopped Barry or Wally from going through it to knock him out. Also it's a bit misleading to say the field is at absolute zero, because if that was the case, it would work like a plastic bag since not even air would be able to get through it :)

Thirdly, even if Juggs was frozen solid while going through it, it still wouldn't make him stop since he has momentum, which is unstoppable. So while Cold in this scenario could win on a technicality, he still risks getting killed by or trapped under the solid Juggernaut.

All that said, if Juggs starts moving, I dont think Cold has anything that can stop him.
