Nate wins if he goes for a tactic such as energy drain (I recall seeing scans of Iron Man running out the Count's reserves). If he's foolish enough to engage in melee, he gets beaten physically. Bad.
@Static Shock: A valid viewpoint, but if he's anything like he was in Avengers and Thunderbolts, I have to disagree. Not because I think Atom's weak (he's far from it), but because Count Nefaria only lost by a fluke and even Thor couldn't stop him according to Pym.
Atom might beat Classic Nefaria, the Count Nefaria had a weakness to types of Ionic energies and even though he has some insane power feats he fought like a really arrogant/stupid version of GeneralZod allowing Marvel heroes to get the drop on him
Captain Atom wins. Nefaria was recently defeated by Ms. Marvel. There seems to be an obvious difference between Classic Nefaria and Current Nefaria. As far as a physical confrontation, I don't see Nefaria having it that easy.
I had the impression this was Classic Nefaria due to the picture in the OP.
