In the comics, thor is a god with or without his hammer. He's even close to the hulk in terms of raw strenght. But the hammer has a lot of power by itself. In the hands of cap, it could be a pretty even fight, but I'm gonna lean toward thor in that one. With the movie versions, cap and thor are pretty even in physical strength and speed, everything else thor has came from his hammer, so if cap had it, he would beat thor senseless.

If Captain America has Thor's hammer doesn't he get his power too? "Whosoever wields this hammer, if he be worthy, will possess the power of Thor" do they mean that literally? Or do they mean that the power of Thor is his hammer? I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how Beta Ray Bill got his powers, just by holding Thor's hammer, and if that worked with Captain America I think he has a really good chance at beating an unarmed Thor.

Both go to Cap. An Asgardian can be killed by an Asgardian weapon. Cap is the better fighter of the two and he now has a weapon strong enough to contend with Thor.

@gav: Never thought about that. Yeah Thor both rounds if he can just call it back out Caps hand.

I just changed it so now Thor can't call back his hammer.
