The OP never said anything about this being Ultimate Cap. He just choose a pick with a wrong caption. Otherwise, why state, "Cap is Steve Rogers". Ultimate Cap was never replaced, by anyone. It was Steve all along. "

There are comics and video games that do this, and it still goes both ways.  I would assume iron man but sometimes cap kicks the snot out of him.

Um, no. He's still one of the best trained fighters without them - he once took out two Super-Soldiers when he was depowered, and without his shield.

Remember in Avengers #4 in 1964 when The Avengers found Captain America in the ice, he took down all of them (Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, and Giant Man) without his shield

It depends all in iron man's suit. For example, with the one of civil war cap has no chance, but with the others cap can win perfectly.

Well, I think it all depends on the location and time. If it's the way the movies portray our heroes, then Iron Man would tear Cap apart. But if we were to discuss the Cap that took down Hulk in Ultimate Alliance, then Cap would win nine times out of ten. It also depends on Iron Man's armor. Get Mark VIII vs Ultimate Cap, and Cap wins, but if you get the hulk buster(Igor in the new movie) then Tony would tear Steve apart. All in all, I believe that Captain would win more fights. Nothing penetrates that shield.

Yeah, I know "HE'S PRERECORDED ALL HIS MOVES." Movesets can change. Cap has evolved throughout the ages. If it came down to it, and it wasn't as serious as the pressing issue in Civil War as a pervious user mentioned, and it was just a normal brawl?

Giving it to Cap. However, if they NEEDED to take eachother down, don't know how it would go. All I'm saying is, that fight in Civil War made Cap look like a scrub. Even if Iron Man did know all his moves, that speed in Cap's fighting should've caught Iron Man a few times. I always thought recording of the moves was a stupid argument anyway, due to the fact a moveset can be thrown around at random. Also the fact, just because you KNOW the moves, doesn't mean you should be able to dodge them.

@gimaggiomarvelman: Ultimate Alliance is a video game and is such non cannon. I also belive that Tony has more armor that can but Steve down. As for nothing can break it. I think Thor buster might be able to.

@bronze_surfer: Thor Buster uses Asgardian Crystal for power, so there's nothing it would do against vibranium. I do agree that Iron Man has enough suits to put him down, but Cap is just too much of a skilled fighter. That shield would stop his pulsar blasts.

Why can't Iron Man shoot some beams and rainbows at Caps... He just can't fly, that doesn't mean he needs to restrict himself to brawl exclusively. Iron Man stomps rather easily.

I think that the example of civil war is unfair, because:

No shield

Iron man attack by his back and crush cap agaist a wall

He has all cap's movements.

I think that if they fought in perfect state and without cheating (without cap's movements and without vision :P) they would have chances of winning both.

He never 'took down all of them", he just pushed them aside momentarily but he stopped when he realized that Bucky was dead, succumbing to his grief.

There is hardly any scenario where Cap can win a fight like this even with no Iron Man flight.

Iron Man has my edge.

Fighting skills: Cap

Speed: Id say Iron man, since the suit does enhance his speed greatly.

Reflexes: Iron man.

Weaponry: Iron man( If he can get past the shield, and shoots cap a bunch of times, or a missile, could be taken down)

Intelligence: Stark, but Captain is a great at tactics, so Id say cap

Id think Iron man would win 6/10,

btw if cap threw his shield at Iron man, wouldn't it cut through the titanium gold armor? since its vibranium

No, when Cap misses with the shield and it hits a wall, it makes a slight dent. It doesn't cut right through it.

@sirderp: Please don't bump mismatches. Cap can literally do nothing here except dodge for awhile before getting pounded. And Tony has plenty of equipment to get around the shield, making it useless.
