Captain America vs Dark Archer

Comic versions of both characters, both have their standard gear, and the fight is to the death or incapacitation. They've both had an hour to read up on the other's abilities and feats therefore they have basic knowledge of who they are fighting. Battle takes place on a roof in Starling City. They start 20 meters away from each other with cover nearby and the fight can be taken elsewhere. Who wins and why?

Cap takes this easily. Dark Archer isn't Hawkeye's level and Cap schools Clint with no effort.

Cap should beat him down. Blocking and dodging his attacks. One good whack upside the head will put him down.

Yeah Cap for the reasons listed. He's a casual bullet timer, I just don't see him having any problems dodging arrows. Plus if he gets close its game over.

Captain America.

Cap takes 10/10 if he gets close, tempted to say he takes it every time at a range to, his shield throws are just that good.

I actually thought this was live action versions at first. Could've been interesting. As is, Cap wins.

I believe Cap and Hawkeye had one fight which Hawkeye won.

That is correct but cap did have hawkeye beat initially to be fair.

Those aren't feats

Not to go off-topic, but that encounter's always felt iffy to me. I love Clint, but he shouldn't have taken Steve down so easily. Then again, it was Hawkeye's own title, so there's that. Chalk it up to neither combatant going for an all-out fight, I suppose. The only other encounters I can think of between the two are Avengers flashbacks of Cap schooling a novice Clint, and that Cap issue where Hawkeye ambushed Steve dressed as the Golden Archer. None of these battles were serious fights though.

That said, if Merlyn being outclassed by Clint is an accurate gauge of the character, I think Cap takes this. Unless someone can produce feats for Dark Archer, I don't see why Steve shouldn't win a solid majority.

@veshark: Well personally I think Steve should beat cap for a majority. All though you are right neither were going full out. On another note, its been a while since I've seen you in the forums, are you back or are you just stopping by?

Steve beats Captain Boomerang is obviously what I meant. He'd beat hawkeye too.

@jashro44: sure Jash sure :P and i personally think starting distance/battlefield are incredibly important in a Cap vs Hawkeye thread. Hawkeye can use his putty arrows to take Caps shield out of the fight (like he has done before) and if that happens Hawkeye can win

Hey Slim. Well I probably won't be posting as frequently as I used to, but yeah, I'm kinda back.

Movie vs TV show would be a better fight. As for this one well, just as everyone else has said Cap wins.
