Actual incarnation of both. Hank can use his gadgets and change size
Sam is virtually invulnerable while in motion, but recently he has shown some problems when he has to maneuver at very high speeds. Hank could change size to dodge him and use his gadgets to set a trap for him, but I'm not sure if this would be enough to hurt him in a direct fight and he has to be careful when changing size, because if Sam's explosive field touch him while in ant size he could be severely injured.

Remember that Cannonball could hurt Gladiator from the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, really batle experience would be enough? I think that the way Hank would win this one is using his scientific abilities.
sam for the win. he is too quick and has beaten a lot more dangerous oponents. future leader of the x-men is right. scott is grooming him to follow his footsteps. sky's the limit (pun intended) for cannonball!
