Cade Skywalker: Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Pirate, Deathstick Addict, Descendant of anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), Luke Skywalker, and Mara Jade
Darth Maul: Sith, Palpatine's Apprentice, Qui Gonn Jinn's assassin
If these two had a full on close quarters battle to the death; no rules (except for the once you die you stay dead rule) who would win.
I personally think that Darth Maul would win this one simply because Maul is better trained and much more ruthless. While Cade Skywalker is a beast in terms of force power and he is willing to fight dirty, he is technically only at the level of a padawan in terms of his jedi training everything else revolves around the skills he has honed as a bounty hunter. Darth Maul was trained to be Palpatine's personal assassin. Cade still has yet to master the all of the fundamentals of either the Jedi or the sith. Granted It would be an interesting bout, but I would ultimately have to go with Qui Gonn's Killer.
Cade Skywalker vs. Darth Maul
What about force lightning? All sith use it and while cade does have it he has yet to use it on a large scale in a fight.
I hate Cade. Stops using the Force as a teenage Padawan, then suddenly like ten years later, after deadening his connection via strong drugs and general non-use, he can suddenly hurl the most powerful Sith Lords under Darth Krayt around like he's been in the game all along and then some. Even Luke's PIS (when he was Cade's age) wasn't that bad.
But alas, Cade would probably win. Maul should win, due to years of experience, slaying Jedi Masters through sheer martial might, and essentially being raised as a living weapon (both Sidious and Dooku noted that). But Cade always pulls victory no matter how outmatched he is, so he'd probably win.
Morrigan Corde, Jariah Syn, Deliah Blue, and/or Wolf Saizen are not able to bail him out this time.
And Darth Krayt was an idiot for allowing one of his top assassins (Darth Talon) to train Cade that would give him the dark side skills, but to take Darth Maul who was trained by Palpatine not likely. Though I will admit Cade does get very very lucky, that's exactly why I chose Darth Maul; Qui Gonn Jinn was also a lucky individual and he died.
Bump- Cade was able to kill Krayt permanently, does he take this? I feel like he has the potential to with his healing, he's healed from some pretty mortal wounds, so he could get the jump on Maul.
Cade is not skilled enough to contend with Maul. I am unsure as to whether I would give Maul every round, though. This is TPM Maul, so Cade could be more powerful but it should be of little consequence.
@shootingnova: Cade was able to revive himself and others from near-death situations. As to force power, Darth Krayt said that he was the most powerful force user he had ever met. Considering he was buddies with Anakin during the Clone Wars, Cade has some serious power. Maul would beat him in a sword duel piece of cake, but IMO Cade should be able to overpower him.
If Cade is rocking Force power around Satele Shan or Darth Malgus level, then he's losing to TPM Maul. Any more powerful than that, and if he's willing to abuse his power right away, then he can win. I don't know anything about him though.
@i_like_swords: He was stated to be the most powerful jedi Krayt had met, and Krayt met both Anakin and Luke. He is very willing to use his power, although he sometimes uses a shotgun. He was able to defeat Krayt and all of his followers in one on one fights, and slashed up fodder sith as a kid. He also was able to heal himself and others from mortal wounds, cured the Rakghoul plague, and broke the Muur talisman after killing Celeste Morne.
@jacthripper: What Krayt says may or may not be reliable, since it is still subjective. Also, Anakin never showcased his power around Hett, to my knowledge.
Cade's Healing is mostly irrelevant. He does have decent Barrier and Shatterpoint potential, as well, but I'm not so sure I'd give it to him because of that.
Maul, cade isn't impressive in the lightsaber fighting area IMO, force wise I haven't seen enough of him to give him a win against TPM maul.
As for cade's dueling, he was able to beat Krayt, someone who Obi-Wan struggled with on Tatooine, as well as cutting up Darth Nihl, Talon, Maladi, and tons of fodder sith. His force power easily eclipses Mauls, even untrained he was able to chuck stuff with TK. Cade also showed the ability to reopen old wounds, and Maul has some very substantial ones from is training, so that alone could potentially kill him. Cade wins 6/10
Cade lost to Krayt, essentially. He won by cheap-shotting him.
Obi-Wan only struggled against him because he was older and out of practice, with Hett having the environmental advantage, and still lost convincingly. Against RotS Kenobi, on even ground, Hett would have been stomped.
@shootingnova: That Obi - Hett battle was so awesome!
@shootingnova: he did cheap shot him, and I don't think that he would have an issue with doing it again.
Also, to be fair, that was a Hett who was only a jedi knight before 66, unlike Krayt after becoming a sith for the next 100 years. He got a lot more experience against jedi, fought Abeloth with Luke, trained acolytes, etc.
@jacthripper: I find it funny how yet again - you're the only one in a thread trying to say Maul loses. You obviously don't like the character very much.
@jacthripper: Show me a source which indicates Krayt's lightsaber skill improved. Experience =/= skill, and I can counter that argument by saying Krayt has never been seen to draw his lightsaber for an incredibly long period of time, so why would he not have gotten out of practice? This is all just speculation. He became more powerful, not more skilful.
Krayt appeared to get worse after becoming a Sith. His fight with Obi-Wan looks like the peak of his abilities - all goes downhill from there.
@jedixman: Well, realistically there's no evidence for that. And he was the winner against Cade.
@i_like_swords: Actually, i'm prepping for your tourney some more, I need to gauge Cade's ranking. Obviously, no one likes Cade, even though he is quite powerful in the force.
@shootingnova: Training sith to kill jedi, killing 10+ Imperial Knights in an single fight, killing Wyrrlok, humbling Talon and Nihl. Just because the era he lives in only has one story arc, doesn't mean he is weak, the way Maul is being put right now, he is being put below only Yoda and Dooku level characters. That seems wrong to me, he was always a simple assassin, and Sidious had no more real use for him after Plagueis' death.

Maul is on the same level as Dooku, in terms of combat effectiveness. There isn't a monumental gap between them. Same goes for guys like Fisto, Ventress, Obi-Wan and the others you are unhappy about Maul being able to beat. Anakin would beat Maul if that makes you feel better. Grievous arguably could. Nobody is making Maul invincible. You just seem to not like the character or be ignorant of his abilities overall.
He was never a "simple" assassin. The word "simple" is being pretty poorly used here. Maul is actually one of the most impressive characters in Star Wars when you consider everything he has gone through, and where he has ended up. I could probably write a couple of essays about the guy and his accomplishments.
@jacthripper: Training Sith is not a combat feat.
Imperial Guards have accolade flak, and that's really it. They were portrayed a fodder in that fight.
Wyyrlok is not an impressive duelist, and neither are Talon or Nihl.
Maul being an assassin has nothing to do with anything. He was still one of the most skilled Sith in history and his physical traits exceed Cade's or Krayt's. It's really that simple.
@jacthripper: Awesome on you trying to defend Cade.
IMO Cade has more than enough potential to win this with his abuse of Force Powers, the fact he is on par in force, more versatile force powers to use, and more importantly his dueling is damn good to stay alive.
Still Maul. Cade has a couple of methods to win but they revolve around his Force powers which I doubt he will be able to utilize for a majority, so I'd give Maul about 6-7/10 at least, maybe a little bit more. Dark Transfer requires contact which I doubt he could manage against a faster and more skilled opponent, but his telekinesis is well ahead of Maul's so he could win via that.

I can live with that actually.
I am pretty sure Cade ragdolled by Darth Krayt's TK, I don't think he is better than Darth Maul at that.
he was always a simple assassin,
Oh Really ? ''Lord Maul'' ...
It was a ''Sith Lord'' ...
That being said, Lord Maul wins.
@erkan12: Did you seriously quote my 8 month old post at which time I hade less than 2000 posts and had no idea what I was doing.
@i_like_swords: Lol, I forgot I used to have such a hate for Maul... Guess I just didn't know enough
Don't take it personally, I just had enough of this misconception about ''Darth'' Maul.
@erkan12: Yeah, he's probably more of a Sith than Dooku as far as ideology
