Angel Arm ftw.
Vash can snipe a person with his pistol from dozens of miles away (possibly more) and hit his target with pinpoint accuracy. Though if Cable is in any level above his normal levels, he's probably going to win. If not, then Vash should take this. More experience, better accuracy, more powerful arsenal, faster, stronger, smarter, better reflexes, and almost everything else is in his ballpark.
Telekinesis is the only thing I see going in Cables favor, though that could lead to a win.
Thanks for reading,
Floopay
@diredrill: Vash has his usual arsenal... the pistol, gun arm, and that angel cannon arm thingy lol
@diredrill: The .45 Colt... his go-to gun
Vash could deflect bullets mid air by throwing rocks at them in the anime. Not sure about the manga. His reaction speed was pretty ridiculous.
The TO virus made Cable's skin bullet proof:
There are a number of ways he could win:
@diredrill: You're talking about the gun that Knives took from Vash, right?

But could he use any of these methods before Vash unleashes his angel arm and annihilates Cable from existence? Cable's not gonna be able to shoot Vash either. Have you seen his maneuverability and reaction time in a gun fight?? It's F##king Ridiculous. And who knows if the TO virus would have any effect on Vash? I took the liberty of editing your number of ways that Cable could win down to the only way he could actually win..
vash. unlike cable's robo arm, stamped's is concealed, able to surprise people with it,
perfect shots , and also he's gun has that big explosion doesnt it?
the vegetable man wins
Actually, I haven't. I'm still waiting for ANYONE to actually post evidence as to why Vash wins. I was hoping that bringing out scans would encourage someone to do that.
Vash wins due to superior speed and raw power. His Angel Arm`s energy blast which was deflected was powerful enough to make a crater within the moon and the attack itself destroys entire cities.
@ferro_vida: its a lil easier to post anime vids but those arent as convincing as scans
Vash wins.
Morals off Vash would eat him alive.
TK and telepathy, on cables level, would not be nearly enough.

Cable is a molecular level telekinetic who's telepathy has overwhelmed or contended with some of the strongest mind on marvel earth from Nate Grey to Hulk and Xavier. His TK is strong enough to go blow for blow with Hulk and Apocalypse for a time, block attacks that take Thor out of the fight and move and survive falls from space stations in orbit.
In fights he uses his tp regularly to counter his opponents attack, turn off the part of the brain that controls special powers, put people to sleep mid fight and out right mind rape or destroy the mind of opponents.
Meanwhile his preferred use of TK in combat is internals which he's used mid fight to cut off bloodflow to the brain, stop peoples hearts, wipe people minds and ripout foreign bodies as small as viruses...
The only way this is a fight is if Cable is depowered.
@koays: vash is not human, he is essentially a sentient futuristic power plant. So tk attacks is wishy-washy at best.
I'm not doubting your knowledge of Cable, but I do not recall his telepathy being on the level of Grey/Xavier without buffs/prep/p.i.s(outliner)
Vash has maintained his mind when jacking himself into thousands of other plants at once to communicate. And as kind as Vash is, he has even used telepathy to force someone to relive the most tragic event of their life; mid fight.
Cable's biggest obstacle is the raw power out put of Vash which has literally vaporized a city of millions as well as left a crater in the planets moon. (As seen in the post above)
Hax: Vash has imbued his ammo with his power to cause the bullets from his gun to create miniature blackholes that swallow up everything in the immediate area.
In series, Vashs biggest handicap is his pacifist view and unwillingness to kill. Without morals, what we get is a power plant with relativistic reflexes, aim so good it'd make Roland Deschain jealous that fires blackholes....
@captain_inverse:
1- Vash not being human is specifically why he's in trouble here. Cable, who's morals even when on are very loose, has shown that when pit against people who can actually take his powers is when he goes much further with his attacks. Everything from completely vaporizing Techno organic cyborgs with a glance to ripping apart monsters and outright crushing androids....just his feats of ripping apart or head popping Deadpool when they were on the same team fall are example beyond Vash of things Cable will do to people who can take him actually trying to punish them. Unplugging parts of peoples brains to cause mind wipes mid battle, alone makes this fight less about fire power and more about what Cable is going to do.
2- Yea....Cable's telepathy is compared directly to Jean's during the 90s and implied at several points to match or surpass hers up until a certain point in her power growth with her having to depend on him heavily in multiple situations. Even as a teenager his telepathy is powerful enough to bridge a dimensional gap current Xavier says shouldn't be possible. His encounters with Onslaught and Nate Grey have him breaking thru Onslaught's control of others and power thru Nate's planetary psychic shockwave to shut him down even though Xavier and Jean were brough to their knees in another part of the world from it's intensity.
Cable doesn't use amps aside from his Psimitar staff an that's an absolute rarity for telepathic feats, and his fully powered Savior form isn't what im referencing. The reason you may doubt his telepathy is because for most of the last 2 decades he's been depowered because he cut a part of his brain out to stop his powers from growing. Cable, at BASE, is still one of the stronger X-Men telepaths.
3- Cable overpowered Tessa (aka Sage, a mutant telepath with a computer brain strong enough to resist and contain a Xavier amped Shadow King, among other complicated feats) and took tp control his team from her. Pieced Nate Greys mind back together despite a psychic seizure disrupting psychics around the world. Broke thru Hulks mental defenses and the Onslaughts shielding to free Bruce Banner. And mindraped his clone Stryfe with the memories of everyone he'd ever killed and left him crying in a corner just two issues after he'd completely mind controlled Xavier and the other X-Men.
4- So yea, while Vash clearly has the firepower edge in spades....it's basically made irrelevant by the fact that hes fighting a telepath and telekinetic who abuses both of his powers and can shut Vash down from anywhere inside the city or a million miles away based on feats he's already performed and can do it without Vash knowing so.
Vash needs knowledge of who he's fighting just to last more then a second without being shut down instantly.
@koays: Cable maybe has the means to skewer Vashs mind but the problem here is the OP's scenario. Vash is literally all about peace and love and 100% against killing. The whole plot of Trigun isn't to kill vash, it's to pervert his morals to get him to turn on humanity.
So Cable taking 1 quick glance into vash's mind would come across as a Buddhist/saint.
You said it yourself, Cable's morals are blurry to begin with, the change in his behavior and manner wouldn't be much. Vash would be doing a hard 180.
In an abandoned city 10-15 feet apart I don't see how this fight would really be anything but a shootout plain and simple. It won't last long enough to where Cable will realize he cannot win that way. Especially when Vash has feats of resisting telepathic attacks. Maybe not on jean/Xaviers level but he is not without means of defense. And he literally has no malice in his heart to torment.
