Lol and agreed. I do not think a chess game with any of Marvel or DC's top brains would be clear cut. In fact, I think a series of games would have to be played to accurately say who is the superior player. One game is just not enough.

@BringnIt Well then move him in ranks accordingly. Their is a huge difference between the genius of Marvel, and DC because Batman is overrated on every topic he is in there is no surprise that people would say him this time too.

Mr. Fantastic is actually pretty sucky at chess, when comparing him to other comic book strategists at least. Iron Man has beaten him, and I'm fully confident Batman could to. When it comes to strategy, Doom edges him out.

If it was "who can build the better particle excellerator?!" Doom would stomp, but in chess Batman can indeed win. Then again, Doom has an equal chance of winning.
Er...people forget that Victor Von Doom is damn near as smart as Reed Richards. Bruce Wayne is smart. But he ain't that smart. Doom figured out how to get past T'Challa's security to get to Wakandan Vibranium, including the Panther god.
I think he can get past Bruce Wayne in a chess match.

Poor writing. That's how. Writer's today don't research continuity. Von Doom is a genius. Stark was never a genius. He was an intelligent, motivated, billionaire industrialist inventor. That should never have happened. That is almost tantamount to the Black Panther armbar of the Silver Surfer.
@Malovent1 No, just no. I cannot speak for early Stark, but he's been a genius for a long time not even including his upgrades. Regardless, you speak as if intelligence is the only variable in chess, and as if it is a game dominated by scientists. I don't remember Stephen Hawking being particularly noted as a chess player. For all Reed's scientific acumen, he's not a great strategist.
This isn't an argument about whose smarter. Doom may be highly more intelligent, but the topic is strategy which some would say batman is pretty dang good at. Just because he could build a better particle accelerator doesn't mean he'd win at chess. It could go either way.
Doom has more chess feats in comics so I say Doom although I could imagine the game being rewritten in how to prove who cheated 1st (keeping in character with both Baas and Doom, you can't tell me they aren't going to cheat and put their mental prowess, one into cheating and the other into proving the other cheated because regular chess is just to droll for these two).

Doom. Victor's tactical know-how is on a different level than Batman's. Thats comic book fact. Until I'm proven wrong, Doom takes it...unless Batman has a contingency plan for ill-fated chess matches...

what a load of crap, doom's tactical know how is so great that it saved him from getting manhandled by luke cage for 200 dollars, it saved him from getting raped by Sentry, and it saved him from losing to Black Panther in doom war, hell his tactics are so great that he didn't lose omnipotence in a single issue in children's crusade

Actually, I've never read a Doom comic. I just wanted proof fom people who have that Dr Doom wouldn't be the winner in this scenario, which you've given me, but in an apparently rude tone, and by using the term "rape". Semi-trolling success?
