After a long night of crime stopping in Gotham City, the caped crusader stumbled upon the aftermath of a deal gone wrong and a slew of dead mobsters strewn about the scene. The Gotham Police Department had already arrived and collected a piece of evidence that was of an unknown value and origin, Batman wanted to look into it but decided to wait for the right opportunity. He managed to spot a lone figure standing int the distance overlooking the crime scene, a tall man with a bowl cut wearing a black jacket. The Dark Knight's eyes locked with the tall man's deathly eyes for a moment, then both vanished from the others sight.
A few weeks later due to the fact that the police were unable to discover where the object came from, Commissioner James(Jim) W. Gordon decided it would be best to auction it to figure out how much someone would pay for it and possibly figure out who would be connected to it in the process. It was obvious to expect some of Gothams richest bigwigs to come searching for another oddity to add to their prestigious collections, what he wasn't expecting however was for the richest of them all to show up and possibly ruin the investigation. When the mysterious object was put up to be auctioned there at least two-hundred Gothamites making claims in the auction house, by the time it was ready to be sold only two auctioneers remained, Bruce Wayne and a tall man with deathly eyes and a bowl cut hairstyle. Bruce Wayne raised his price to 5 million, the tall man raised his to 8 million and settled, Bruce responded with a raise to 10 million and was sold the object much to the commissioner's dismay. Bruce Wayne went to greet and shake the hand of the enigmatic tall man out of good sportsman ship, when they shook hands they locked eyes again. Bruce had almost forgotten that night weeks before, it had only just occurred to him that he is shaking the hand of a potential threat and what really put him off is the look on the mans face, like he was expecting Bruce and was glad to see him. Their picture's were taken as they shook hands, they parted without saying a word. when Bruce went to claim his prize he could still feel the gaze of those deathly eyes following him, even as he left and met with Alfred. As he entered the Rolls-Royce, they locked eyes one last time through the reflection on the rear view mirror...
Bruce spent the rest of that day in the Bat-Cave researching both the mysterious object from the crime scene, after getting only a little bit further than the GCPD he turned his sights towards the mysterious tall man using facial recognition with the photos taken by the press earlier. At first nothing came up, no police records, no tax reports, no reciets, after digging a bit deeper into some off record information on a secret database he got what he was looking for. The man, Anton Chigurh, was an assassin that had been a suspect twenty years earlier for a string of murders involving Mexican gangsters in West Texas that were never witnessed and was linked to the murders of a bounty hunter named Carson Wells and his employer. When the murder of the employer was investigated, information on Chigurh was first discovered by retired sheriff Ed Tom Bell who went missing shortly after releasing this information to a few sources Unfortunately the information never left the state but was uploaded onto one singlar database, Bruce found and used this database to access Anton's info which detailed him as psychopathic serial-killer. As he sent the information to Gordon for safety, there was a faint beeping sound coming from the curious object, almost like an internal tracking beacon....
As the door bell rang, the Bat-Cave monitor displayed a familiar figure on the hidden camera. Bruce practically raced Alfred to the main hall who was a second away from answering the door. Moments after the door went unanswered, a bewildered Alfred felt the door knob lock hit him, then he was tackled to safety by Bruce from a hail of shotgun shrapnel and wood. Armed with a customized silenced shot-gun and a captive bolt pistol, Anton Chigurh appeared through the open door of Wayne Manor and continued his assault. The multi-billionaire and his butler fled to the passage way leading to the Bat-Cave ducking from shells and falling wood chips, Alfred fell when a lead pellet grazed his thigh and was carried the rest of the way. Just as the doors to the elevator opened, Anton fired on them, leaving Bruce no choice but to send Alfred down to the cave alone and allude the assassin until he had an opportunity to join him. After the elevator doors shut, Bruce evaded Anton and lost him in the manor's many hallways. Will the prince of Gotham be perforated by the cold blooded assassin of the West? Or will the relentless hunter of hunters become the hunted?
