@CalebHara:

I thought Thanos with the HOTU was equal to God?

#5 Posted by CalebHara (2329 posts) - - Show Bio

@JohnnyZ256: He has a small amount of the power from The one Above All, which is the god of the Marvel universe. The God of the REAL universe, could kill TOAA by thinking about doing it.

Morgan Freeman is just a spectator for this battle.

#10 Posted by pooty (11241 posts) - - Show Bio

@CalebHara: Thanos stomps. His feats are FAR MORE impressive then Bruce Almighty. Bruce fought no one. Didn't create anything. Morgan Freeman's feats as God does not count for Bruce. Bruce may have had the power but was not experienced with it. Thanos was a pro with his power and showed it.

Bruce took on gang members making a monkey come out of one of there asses than chased away the rest by creating a swarm of bees in his mouth,,one wrong for pooty....he created storms, a new car for himself, a gun, bigger boobs for his girlfriend and parted a bowl of soup lol,,,so he created things as well...Bruce is a god Thanos has a small piece of one, Bruce wins

Bruce.

#13 Posted by pooty (11241 posts) - - Show Bio

Bruce's on screen feats do not compare to Thanos. Just calling him God does not automatically win the battle. God in the Bible has not even proven he can beat Satan or Death. Thanos beat everyone. Even if you use the Bible's feats(which you can't because it was not on screen nor proven) God created the Universe and it took him days to do it. Thanos recreated the MULTIVERSE in seconds. Thanos stomps

#14 Posted by JohnnyZ256 (2366 posts) - - Show Bio

Let's keep the Bible out of this. The Morgan Freeman god is a fictional representation of the Christian God, but he is obviously not really God.

The God of the Bible is omnipotent, though, so God obviously wins.

God could easily create a multiverse in seconds, or instantly, also.

But anyway, this is not a debate between the Christian God and Thanos. This is a debate between Bruce Almighty and Thanos. The main question is, How powerful is Bruce Almighty?

#15 Posted by Sonata (6264 posts) - - Show Bio

Thanos should win this based on the actual feats. I remember couldn't process all the prayers in a section of Buffalo and had to use a PC.

#16 Posted by D3athstroke (3918 posts) - - Show Bio

They both have universal + powers but Thanos is smart enough to make Bruce wish himself out of existence

#17 Posted by SSJLozza (1528 posts) - - Show Bio

@CalebHara: Sounds very preachy. I say Thanos.

#18 Posted by JohnnyZ256 (2366 posts) - - Show Bio

@Sonata:

That's a good point. Bruce may have been nigh-omnipotent but he still possessed a human body.

Isn't God from Bruce Almighty fictional as well? :p

Still, he's enough to trump thanos with his troll of the universe.

Oh Wow...he took on Street Thugs and made his Girlfriends boobs bigger! Gee...nothing Thanos could do to touch that.

Concepts vs Feats never work well for battles.

This would battle of wits and intelligence. Thanos has shown more of that. If anything Thanos tricks Bruce into failure.

Bruce wasn't actually omnipotent even after God gave him his powers. He was unable to make his girlfriend fall in love with him and God (Freeman) only gave him a portion of New York to answer prayers too instead of the entire world and found that tough. Bruce is a nigh-omnipotent. If Thanos with HOTU is omnipotent then he should win.

The reason Bruce couldn't make his girlfriend fall for him, was plainly because of the strict rule not to mess with free will.

That directly contests being omnipotent. If it were just a rule Bruce would have been able to do it by simply breaking the rule but he was completely incapable of doing so. So he can't be omnipotent as he couldn't break the rule nor could he get her to fall in love with him.

Anything else he has the power over.

The guy did what ever he wanted with a thought,,had a major threat presented itself he would dismiss it with a thought just like TOAA,,,, he just lacks major battle feats because its a comedy...anything he thought happened,,if Thanos showed up,all scary looking he woul freak out and banish him with a thought

Was it ever stated that Morgan Freeman was Bible God specifically? Did he say in the movie that he actually created the universe? I can't remember. Nevertheless Even Bible God feats pale in comparison to Thanos. It took God days just to create the universe. A whole day just to create one human. Thanos recreated the MULTIVERSE. Multiverse >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Universe. God has not proven he can beat Satan or Death. Thanos defeated all hell lords and Death itself. Based on feats Thanos wins against bible God also.

Bruce demonstrated only low level reality altering power. He did nothing on the scale of Franklin Richards, Galactus or even Odin.

Bruce. Spite.

#37 Posted by Killemall (18598 posts) - - Show Bio

@pooty: Thanos actually only destroyed one universe (Earth 4321) rather than a multiverse, but he did kill and recreate a being who is megaversal (i.e. LT) alongside other abstracts. I agree with everything else you said.

#38 Posted by Bane_of_sith (2796 posts) - - Show Bio

Well Bruce was a comedy and there is no feats to back up serious battle claims...fact is everything he thought about happened, easily,,and as I stated had a serious threat represented itself he would have dealt with it...I know what Thanos did when he merged with the HOTU,,we spoke about this...this thread can't exist because everyone seems incapable of having a debate unless they have feats,,and Bruce had no need to destroy existence, or an ancient Egyptian, celestials and galactus so Thanos wins cause he has

#39 Posted by pooty (11241 posts) - - Show Bio

Thanos (without the HOTU) instantly turned a skrull into stone. Does that mean he can turn Galactus into stone? If a person shows low level reality manipulation does that automatically mean they can manipulate reality on a large scale? If we don't use feats, all we have is speculation, assumptions and unproven opinions.

Thanos stomps

#41 Edited by Bane_of_sith (2796 posts) - - Show Bio

Turning a skull into stone is more a manipulation of matter than reality so that's not the best example,,but sometimes an argument must be made with out feats,,when the what if comic of hulk herald of galactus came out that hulk was featless but if you give world breaker hulk the power cosmic he's very dangerous, but with no feats does that mean he will lose to puck? I don't think so,,god (Morgan freeman) stated when I leave you will be endowed with all of my powers..meaning he can do anything that god can do. Some times all you can do is speculate,,especially in this fight cause the op decided to pit Thanos against a guy from a comedy movie with no real violence

#42 Posted by Lord_Johnathan (3300 posts) - - Show Bio

As an atheist, I won't carry any ridiculous religious baggage into this, and Thanos' feats crap all over bruce's. And in the end, feats are all that matter in a fictional verse fight.

#43 Edited by ComocYahweh (661 posts) - - Show Bio

Bruce's best feats was to remove stars by wiping them off the sky and create new ones instantly. The rest were some pretty minor reality warping, however GOD himself stated that Bruce was endowed with ALL his powers, enough said. Bruce will make a monkey come out of Thanos's crack.

#44 Posted by JohnnyZ256 (2366 posts) - - Show Bio

@Lord_Johnathan:

No need to take a swipe at people who believe. And just remember, atheists must have faith that the supernatural doesn't exist.

#45 Posted by pooty (11241 posts) - - Show Bio

Bruce Almighty was a movie. Stop referring to what we know about God from the Bible. All feats for this battle come from a comic book Thanos and a movie Bruce Almighty. If the Op wanted us to use Bible god he would have made this: Thanos vs Bible God. Bruce Almighty regardless of his godhood has only low level reality feats. Thanos showed Complete control over reality. There is no need to speculate. They both have feats. Use those feats.

Lol Bro Are you forgetting that human created the multiverse, and thanos, and HOTU along with it? He could switch off the HOTU easily if he wanted to, by making a dog bite it by a plot device. Real God >>>> Writer >>> Thanos with his childish toys.

Any one of us is as Good as the writers in Marvel. Thanos is nothing compared to a child from the actual world. God>All of us put together. Thanos doesn't even begin to match the crazy power of real world :)

#47 Posted by pooty (11241 posts) - - Show Bio

@PrinceAragorn1: That would be true if we had any proof that God created everything. Did we witness God creating the universe? Is there a video or actual proof that he did? Can we prove the words in the Bible are from God? But let's forget about God from the Bible because this is Bruce Almighty which is a movie. All feats used have to be from that movie and that movie alone. based on that movie Thanos stomps.

Not just Bible, every religious text says so. They are texts written by people as well. What proof do you have that Thanos created/recreated the multiverse? None. None at all. I'm not debating about the God from movie. If you see my first comment, and any one after that, I've been stating real God.

Thanos should be able to handle an almost-featless Bruce Almighty.
