Bronn vs Sandor Clegane

GOT and ASOIAF feats applicable.

Round 1: Sandor in full plate. Bronn in his leathers. Both armed with a sword of their choosing. Fight in a Melee Tourney. Begin 10 feet apart.

Round 2: Standard gear. Begin 20 feet apart on Blackwater Bay.

Round 3: Meet on the battlefield. Let's say the Trident. Who wins?

I really think if you put Sandor in full plate, then Bronn will have his number. The other two fights, I'd probably back the Hound.

I love Bronn and i think this through and through to find a way he could win this......but i can´t. His best chances are propably in the first round but Clegane wouldn´t tire as fast as Ser Vardis Egen and is propably more skilled. Coupled with his great strength and endurance he would propably last long enough to land the few blows he needs to K.O. Bronn. On the battlefiled hounds build and helmet would propably lead that less combatants would try to engage him due to fear so again he has an advantage over Bronn who looks quite regular.

The Hound should win this. Bronn is good, but he's not in the listings for top swordsmen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Also, being in full plate is certainly not a weakness. It's a massive advantage, as has been shown consistently through the series. Bronn using it to his advantage with Ser Vardis isn't applicable to a fighter who is much stronger, much more aggressive, and much more skilled than Vardis, and who can likely move more easily in the armor he's wearing due to that strength.

So yes, the Hound for a clean sweep all three rounds.

Round 1 Bronn, he will know that Sandor in full plate during a melee will tire much quicker and he will take advantage

Round 2: Sandor loses; Sandor was distracted by the fire to say the least, distracted fighters against Bronn should lose

Round 3: Sandor, I believe in standard gear without distractions Sandor likely wins after an epic battle

I think people underrate Bronn a bit in this thread. Since Tyrion describes him as being almost as fast as Jaime [and we know that Tyrion is massively biased towards Jaime], that's something you can't ignore. Also, in round 2, I didn't mean in the battle of the Blackwater, I just meant on Blackwater bay, my fault as I should have clarified.

@rogueshadow: a lot of people forget about Tyrion's comments. Bronn is extremely underrated, I do think Sandor would win a slight majority though 5.5-6/10

Sandor round 1 and 3

could go either way at round 2 due to Bronn's throwing knives. The Hound may get in difficulty if he gets hit by Bronn's knives before melee.

Bronn stands a good chance in R1, but Hound takes R2 and 3 solidly.

As a bonus, I think Bronn would have won in that standoff they had just before Blackwater.

R1 and R3 for Bronn. Being in full armor is an advantage, but Bronn is faster than the Hound already. With the armor on, it makes him even slower. He'll have a proper sword and light armor so he's not totally defenseless like Strip Forel was.

In an open battle field, Clegane gets distracted esp by fire. Bronn should be able to get a good shot in and then duck back into the battle for cover.

Sandor Clegane did lose against Brienne of Tarth so he isn't unbeatable.
