You know he was a UFC champion too right? If Lesnar can get Ali on the ground its all over for him.

As much as I want to say Ali would knock this meathead out, Lesnar does win. Ali doesn't have takedown defence.

There's a reason Ali's fight with Antonio Inoki had so many rules. Ali would've gotten creamed.

In a boxing only match Ali dots lesnar a few times and he's done, all out Brock probably takes Ali because he can use everything he's got, but Ali's speed is not to be underestimated. And if Ali can tag him a few times he might take a couple rounds.

I remember Brock having poor striking during his stint in UFC but he's a renowned champion wrestler (legit wrestling) so if he can get Ali on the ground, he's golden. Thing is Ali loves to stick and move and his reach is incredible. Getting close will be a hassle and Brock will get tagged but I don't think it will be enough to KO Lesnar.

@darthmanhunter: Yeah, Ali would absolutely decimate Lesnar in a stand up fight. Like Lesnar would just cease to exist entirely before the first punch was thrown because of how badly he's outclassed.

Muhammad Ali, so long as he isn't taken down etc, could win, however Brock Lesnar is a much more well rounded fighter, and if he gets Ali him on the floor etc, or he can get Ali from his boxing stance etc; he should take the majority IMO...

There are lesser UFC fighters that beat Ali.

It's a shame because in the era of Ali boxing was thought to be the pinnacle of fighting. If someone as talented as Ali were to take up UFC, then I'm sure he'd dominate that too.

Shane Carwin couldn't knock Brock out & his punching power far exceeds Ali's but in a straight up boxing match Ali would win no doubt. Street fight Brock would win both rounds as Brock is built for it while Ali is not.

Brock cannot take a punch and has no cardio. If Ali keeps his distance he wins every time

If you watch Brocks last couple of fights you realise he's being overestimated here. Even against Shane Carwin both were gassed and could barely move 2nd round

Ali better watch Brocks movements, and end it quick or its all over. Ground game is not Ali's specialty, and it won't be pretty if that happens.

This is most likely true but....Ali still mostly stomps lighter weight grapplers; but given Brock's size, he'd win. Though I think a more aggressive style like Tyson would destroy Les.

In a boxing match Ali absolutely freaking destroys him. However in a fight Lesnar wins hands down, he is a 3 time national champion wrestler and also has a superior ground and submission game.

@frozen: Tyson would KO Lesnar in a boxing match but in a fight like this, Lesnar wins. He isn't going to be dumb enough to try to punch with Tyson.

Boxing vs mma never works out very well, I am actually a big fan of both but there is nothing ali could do. He is a great boxer but brock has so many advantages, Brock takes him down and ground and pounds him.......

What do you mean "next big thing"? brock retired after like 7 or 8 fights and he has not done very much, he is not even close to a legend even tho he is in the HOF(hall of fame). He got special privileges for being in the WWE, he is not the "next" anything, his time has passed and he got beat down multiple times.

(also) him being in the HOF does not mean anything, stephan bonnar who has done nothing but be on TUF is in the HOF, not that big a deal from legend standards. Brock retired 5-3, he could not take a hit so he left. I respect him for getting in the octagon but he is not the next big thing.

@bullettimer: I can't say about his best feats because I don't follow WWE regularly. Most of the limited knowledge I have on WWE are from the internet. As for Brock, I've only watched four matches of him vs The Rock, vs Randy Couture, vs John Cena, and vs Rey Mysterio.

It's not just the fact that Les is a grappler - there are smaller grapplers that Ali would stomp, it's the fact that Les was a Heavyweight grappler who was somewhat at a world-class level.

Don't be silly kid.

Lesnar wins because of Ali's lack of takedown defense and the fact that he's heavier.

He'll never be ranked among the greats like ALI or be anywhere near the legend that ALI was.

I've seen boxers both win and lose mma fights, this isn't some boxer and this isn't a mma fight it's a street fight so both know everything goes. I see Brock going for the take down and getting Phantom Punched to the ground.

The only time brock wins is when he is able to overpower the person he is fighting, he wins against smaller guys or people with worse wrestling credentials. Every time he faces adversity he gives up and gets his butt beat, he has only fought 8 times, that is all it took for him to retire, and he lost 3 of those 8 times. The only reason brock was champ is because they let him cut ahead because he was semi famous already, the division was weak at the time and he only won because Randy Couture was almost 50 and weighed like 40 pounds less.

Despite all of this brock wins, he is bigger, stronger and he will use his wrestling to ground and pound ali, unless ali gets a lucky punch brock will win just about every time.

He's not the Flash and this isn't a comicbook. It's hard to move out the way of something like that in an actual fight.

Muhammad Ali was unstoppable in his day, but MMA has changed so many things. Ali was a boxer. Brock has an endless advantage being an extremely skilled wrestler as well as knowing how to fight at the highest level. Lesnar takes it with moderate difficulty. Just my two cents.

Most boxers are acutely aware of the weaknesses of there style, and have been for a long time now.

MMA Is not > or < then boxing.

Ali likely elbows lesner in the temple before he can react as to not damage his fists.

You're aware Ali fought decades before MMA ever became a thing, right? He fought in what many consider to be the precursor to MMA, in his fight against Antonio Inoki. Look at how that turned out.
