Who would win the war?
@thundergodswrath: @drkcloud: What can the Gold Saints do to keep the Black Lanterns down?
@thundergodswrath: @drkcloud: What can the Gold Saints do to keep the Black Lanterns down?
Blast em.
@thundergodswrath: And when they reform?
@thundergodswrath: And when they reform?
Throw them into the sun.
@thundergodswrath: And they would still reform and come back, they only way to completely kill them is to combine Lantern's energy
Black Lanterns.
@thundergodswrath: And they would still reform and come back, they only way to completely kill them is to combine Lantern's energy
So than what's the point of this battle?
@thundergodswrath: I don't know I didn't make it
Assuming Black lanterns can die, Saints win. Otherwise, I have no idea how they would kill the Black Lanterns, especially after one of them became infected =/
They can't put down any of the Black Lantern heroes.
They get swarmed, or worn down and then swarmed.
Define "most DC heroes"
Gemini alone is a galaxy buster and gold clothes were durable enough to withstand big bang level blasts. Assuming equivalence Shaka would be really really frigging good.
EDIT:
Thought about it some more. Considering the fact that the Goldies have, in battles, taken millions upon millions of strike per second, the force of a galaxy exploding, the force of several big bangs, etc, without being hindered by the very obvious openings and uncovered areas of the cloths, it's probably safe to say that the clothes protect the users from not only damage directed at the covered areas, but also the entire body as a whole. There is thus no way in hell the heroes are going to win by physical means.
The saints have shown telepathy feats, but they are pretty weak. The clothes also don't grant tp protection, as Leo was being mind controlled by Gemini at one point. With someone like MMH, they probably win with the prep period and a large enough frontline, but only if black lantern rings don't attach themselves to the saints upon their death. As the gold saints all have shown mastery of the eighth sense, they retain full control of their wills in death, and would become endlessly regenerating gold saints who cannot be affected by tp..

Only a few have mastery over the eighth sense.
The SEVENTH sense is what they all possess.
If this is Lost Canvas gold saints then the Gold Saints stomp.
If this is classic then it could go either way but the big guns namely Saga, Aiolos (episode g, before death) and Shaka really edge it out.
All have gained mastery over the eighth sense, as all retained their free will in hell to break that wall.
The gold saints have other means to defeat the Black lanterns i mean wats stopping Aquarius Camus from freezing them at the absolute zero at light speeds, wats stopping Virgo Shaka from removing all theyre senses and leaving them useless like actual corpses, or even Gemini Saga removing them at light speeds into a different dimension. that being said if almost all dc heroes are infected then they will eventually bring down the gold saints even with theyre insane techniques they have few resources wen it comes to fully disposing of a black lantern.techniques like galaxian explosion and athena exclamation although insanely powerful would be a giant waste of cosmo. This would be a close battle but eventually one of the saints will get infected and then its down hill. BLs FTW
Two questions:
@web_flotsam: BL's have survived complete incarceration.
Also BL's stomp. Spectre, Anti-Monitor, and Nekron would be enough plus a month of prep means he can infect other universe's
Two questions:
As in.. you want a official guidebook statement saying the attack was powerful as a galactic explosion?
This one is very interesting, Last Canvas versions would have no problem, but those classic versions would have to put a fight here, Nekron could only be put down by a Cancer saint, and base Deathmask hasn't shown enough skill against that kind of opponent, but with some support from his team he should be able to do it.
Lost Canvas - Stomp.
Classic Versions - Win, but they will have to fight really hard in order to do that.
Wait Nekron is here? By god there will be some undead saints here because anyone touched by Nekron, for to long, will die and to completely kill Nekron you'd have to destroy every black lantern there before they can pick up his ring

The majority of the saints have no way to kill him (Besides Cancer Saints), but almost everyone have what it takes to incapacitate him. Gemini can warp him through countless dimensions and Shaka can turn him into an immobile body, that wouldn't hold him for too long, but would give them some time to deal with the heroes.
@hiddenlight: no it won't, if Nekron is destroyed by any saint, a black lantern will pick up his ring and be immediately possessed by Nekron. Also aren't the guardians under his control along with the Anti Monitor and thousands of others. Reverse Flash, Doomsday, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and most of the justice league are with him. I don't see the saints stopping everyone without at least 1 or 2 saints dying and becoming a black lantern

The Eighth sense allows the user to keep control over themselves even while in the underworld, nothing can bypass the will of someone that have that sense, and from what we saw, at least one of them have that ability (Virgo Saint) so he could negate Nekron's control. But if I'm not wrong, it seemed that they all awakened that as they had no problem at all to keep control of themselves while dead. All that Nekron would do would be making a Gold Saint immortal and buffed by a ring.
@hiddenlight: Nekron doesn't control the persons soul just their body. Even then he is the ruler of Purgatory and controlling 2 saints is nothing compared to controlling the spirit of Spectre, the Anti Monitor and thousands of green lanterns, who pretty much are empowered by willpower, all at once without struggling. As soon as 1 saint falls they all will because the will become overwhelmed by hundreds of thousands of undead, and almost immortal black lanterns and an amped saint who Nekron will control

That's pretty much the same thing in the underworld, you go there with your body and soul, and anyone who enter that is instantly controlled by Hades unless the 8th Sense is awakened or under some specific ocasions. Being powered by willpower don't makes them less succeptible to be controlled, the ring does that, but it isn't an immunity, just a resistance. I don't get why we're using Spectre and Anti-Monitor here, Martian Manhunter entered Spectre's mind in the past (And also dropped Hal Jordan) and he doesn't have a lot of willpower demonstrations (In fact, I'm sad for how badly he is often portrayed by DC, he is one of my favorite characters). That's roughly the same as the argument that the Infinite Tsukuyomi in Naruto would drop anyone from any universe as it ignored mental resistances and even people that were immune to genjutsu were affected, the difference is that we have no proof that Nekron is better at controlling people than Hades is in his own dimension with the dead ones. At his peak, his powers could maybe rivalize God from his universe (Or TOAA in Marvel).
