Who would win a battle between these two energy absorbers? Both can be pretty powerful if written correctly.

Bishop

vs

Winter

Bishop: Bishop is a mutant who can absorb most types of energy directed toward him. He can then re-channel it through his body for concussive blasts, or in the same form that was absorbed (this includes Storm's weather effects such as lightning). This re-channeled energy is apparently able to damage beings who are normally immune to their own powers. Due to the nature of his mutant powers, it makes it extremely difficult to damage him with energy-based attacks, while enabling him to work well with any energy-using teammates. Bishop can also store absorbed energy within his personal reserves. Storing this energy within body gives Bishop a variety of benefits including superhuman strength with unknown limits, increased stamina, accelerated healing, and invulnerability. In recent years Bishop has been seen to be learning to absorb physical damage much the waySebastian Shaw does and redirect this kinetic energy into enhancing his physical abilities as well. However, some energy types are more difficult to absorb than others, and Bishop can only absorb so much energy before he is forced to expel it lest it kill him. He also has the ability to instinctively know where he is at. Bishop is resistant to nanites due to his training in the XSE. He is a formidable armed and unarmed combatant, having been extensively trained during his time with the XSE.

He possesses a cybernetic arm that is powered by nuclear energy, and has been shown to have two clawed tendrils in it, as well as allowing him to time-jump due to built-in time travel technology. Other abilities of the arm are unknown.

Winter: The ability to absorb energy and channel it into many different ways, as well as identify and track different energy types (and their users). He has proven he could absorb kinetic energy, psychic energy, radiation and heat (magic as well, though it causes him pain). It seems that a lot of the energy is absorbed without actually hitting him because physical attacks that should kill him (like punches from the High) only hurt and the energy from it becomes available to him. This energy absorption enables him to increase his durability, to move at superspeeds, fly and heal himself. Winter did seem to have limitations, such as ability "peaking", and cut-offs, such as he was unable to heal his mangled hand in WildC.A.T.s/Aliens, this was probally due to exhaustion. Though there may be a limit to how much he can improve his body with stored energy, there may be no limit to how much energy he can have. It made him crazy because of the pain, but Winter was able to absorb the energy of the sun when he flew into it. Additionally, it seems that though he's been released from the sun, he can still tap into its power. Winter doesn't absorb and emit the same energy. All energy he absorbs is flipped (positive to negative and vice versa) so that it can be used against whomever he originally got it from and have it still hurt them even if they should be able to absorb the energy right back.

No takers? Well i'll start. I loved Bishop as a character (before they wrote him as an evil, robot-arm, murdering lunatic!) but winter (like most wildstorm characters at the time) started off as regular powered hero to superman level hero. Winter has gone toe to toe with the High (a superman level threat) and exchanged blows , and when he was trapped in the sun he didnt die but due to his absorbtion power became part of the sun (though he was in great pain). I think maybe Winter may have a greater energy absorption limit than bishop.
