@Andferne: not to nitpick but that doesn't answer my question. As i read lots of European comics and many of them are as large here in Quebec and in their home continent as the Major American comic companies are in the U.S
So are are you asking American companies or in general?

@Sexy Merc: Thanks. =) Yeah I'm a Marvel guy. If I didn't count Drizzt as a comic character (to be fair hardly has any comics) then number 5 would be Superman.
All the Infinity Series pertty much point to him on another level ahead of the earth leaders... He's th Ultimate Champion of Life & has one the most uniqe minds in the Universe...
number one leader i have to say would steve rogers a combination of superman and batman
batman is a great leader who you want to lead you in times of crisis and the ocasional great crisis.He will figure out what is wrong how it happened and how to fix it. its in dire times that he leads best he can gather everyone to get the job done but in calm times hes not the leader you want.He wont stick for matters that arent grave and he doesnt do well with people who dont have faith in him (unquestion belie f like the robins or outsiders). Superman is a great leader to have on your team in calm times and the worst of times he will inspire you to do your best and have hope no matter the odds.Thats his forte hes not stupid he can lead tactically but hes no bruce wayne or tachalla.
steve has both he inspires his followers and leads them to victory
i would also like to be in a team where dick grayson would lead. he has traits of batman and supes to a lesser degree in supes department and not a genius tactician but brilliant will do.
Problem Sleuth makes a great leader for this, he's already defeated DMK, a horrible space demon so he's got experience.
Protoman(as he appears in Bob and George) is a great strategist and is less likely to do something stupid and if he does it might just be all part of the plan. Similarly Bob is basically the evil version of this and he ends up being quite the chessmaster by the end of the series.
A good leader inspires those who follow and is followed willingly. T that end it's either Steve Rogers or Superman. A great leader also knows his limitations and would lean on those around him who might best fill those voids. Sa such the best leadership IMHO would be Steve Rogers leaning on his captains Bruce Wayne, T'chall and Vril Dox. Each of these would have the knowledge and know how to deal with whatever, Steve would choose the best plan to use that's presented by all three.
