Best Battles in New Comics: 10/9/15

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #50

(By Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, Tom Waltz, Mateus Santolouco, and Ronda Pattison)

This issue could have been the only issue featured this week. The fights were epic and there were so many. We could have easily broken it down into three separate battles, but we'll just give you a tiny glimpse of the glorious fighting contained.

The fight continues from last issue. Every is riding on this. The Gauntlet is going to finally settle things between the Turtles and Shredder.

The fight goes on different levels. While the Turtles are having some fun, they are playing for keeps.

They're also not too happy with what Bebop and Rocksteady did before. They almost make it look too easy.

As mentioned, there's just so much to the battles. It keeps going. But we have to mention there is also a fight between Master Splinter and Shredder.

Of course we can't reveal everything that happens. You will definitely want to check out this issue. Be sure to track one down at your local comic shop. It'll be worth it.

BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #1

(By James Tynion IV, Scott Snyder, Tony Daniels, Sandu Florea, and Tom Morey)

Dick Grayson is still in Gotham City and finding himself getting in over his head. He's not quite sure what's going on and how it deals with a secret from an old case Batman kept from him. He suddenly finds himself knocked off his motorcycle by a character we've been waiting to see.

It's Cassandra Cain! We know Dick is no slouch when it comes to fighting. You can see Cassie easily targets his weak spots and takes advantage of them.

Dick practically doesn't stand a chance here He doesn't get a single shot and she makes quick work of him.

Dick also notices that these moves should be lethal. Cassie is kicking his butt even though she's holding back. At least that might give him an idea whose side she might be on. It's great to have Cassie back and let's hope we get to see a lot more like this.

LOBO #11

(By Cullen Bunn, Frank Barbiere, Robson Rocha, Ruy Jose, and Blond)

Lobo has been working for Sinestro lately. Basically Sinestro wants the other Lantern Corps out of the picture. Lobo has been taking the power rings of the other Lanterns by pretty much any means necessary. Next up, the Red Lanterns.

This won't be a pretty sight.

Poor Dex-Starr.

Atrocitus isn't going to take this likely. The Red Lanterns attack Lobo. Lobo learns, the hard way, what happens when they vomit blood on him.

But Lobo is able to get out of this situation. He's not finished with the job so he continues the fight.

It may not be looking good for the Red Lanterns but the fight's not over. Can Lobo survive?

You'll have to buy the issue to find out what happens next because we're out of time.

Okay did the Red Lanterns take a serious drop in threat/competence or has Lobo got a weapon that is super effective on them? Because he should really not be shredding them that easily.

That roof top fight with the Turtles/Splinter vs Shredder was amazing. TMNT#50 is epic

TMNT 50 was a great issue. The fights were exciting and the developments huge. Looking forward to what comes next.

And... Cullen Bunn is terrible writer...

@titanbreaker: The Red Lanterns have been written so badly that they don't even have a set level of power. You would think Atros would be at a level with Hal/Sinestro, but instead he gets beaten near death by Guy Gardner. I don't even know how he has his Corp back considering Bleez and Rancorr split from him during the Red Lantern run.

Shredder is about to get shellshockd

TMNT #50 had easily the best fight scenes this week and possibly some of the best action sequences in comics of 2015. It was a really awesome pay off for everything the IDW volume of TMNT has produced thus far and sets up a very intriguing and novel status quo even without its 2 most notable villains.

TMNT 50 for the win, what a great issue. The Splinter vs Shredder fight was amazing!

Even in the New 52 (Forgive me if I still called it that), Cassie still remains a beast!

Well from the way things are going he won't have a corp for very long. My main experience with him comes from GL TAS and there he was a powerhouse capable of fighting the best lanterns in series with ease. Here he comes across as a early stage boss fight.

Might actually buy an issue of Lobo this week.

And I don't get how people can still hate new Lobo. He's basically his old self now, only less hairy.

im off and on with tmnt but this issue was awesome can not wait to see what happens moving forward , batman/robin also got me hooked until it loses its flavor , like in batman eternal. and lobo was awesome as well, does bellyaching over it read that damn comic . lol

Because he still looks like something out of Twilight and now he's basically whacking off characters that had some appeal or potential.

It is good to see Cass return. I can't say I'm surprised she beat Grayson so easily.

Wow, Cullen Bunn is really bungling the Green Lantern universe.

Awesome fights this week, but TMNT #50 fights were pretty epic.

I like how Dick has to announce that he's one of the best fighters. Cause when entering a fight you always want to brag to your opponents. I always liked the statement of "You don't want to do this kid." Least he did get a small grab in there.

The Turtle art perspectives and angle wise is sweet.

when did Atrocitus even return? I have been waiting for him ever since that abysmal Red Lanterns arc where he became a Pope...

They're certainly not holding back in showing Cassandra's skill. Part of me is thinking poor Grayson but another part of me is thinking yes Cain.

DC please STOP killing named Lanterns, outside of the Green and Yellow Corps we have so few Lanterns with actual names and back stories it just seems wasteful. By all means for the sack of your Lobo story kill all the nameless red shirt Lanterns you want there a plenty of them but why couldn't you leave guys with really story potential like Muk, Dex-Star and Rankorr alone? There was so much story potential with Rankorr and Bleez traveling together and Dex-Star deserves better than to be slaughtered in a book that is already on the way out.

Interesting to see miss Cain is back.

One does not simply beat Cassandra Cain in H2H combat.

Also a very emotional fight with the TMNT one.

Nice TMNT battle! Glad to see the turtles kicking butt and taking names.

Cass Cain... cool character... with one of the most overpowered, plot-devicey abilities ever created. I really hope they designate her as a meta, or at least introduce some drawbacks to her ability this time around, because she can basically stomp any class of street leveler with auto-win precog (that's essentially what it is). Otherwise this is going to get really absurd, really fast. It's not really an ability that a non-meta or non-super should be able to just "learn," child prodigy or no. It's more like a mutant power. Shoot, she's almost as bad as Midnighter in that way, but at least he is a designated meta/superhuman.

And on the plus side, finally Dick meets a woman thats not hypnotized by his butt :)
