There is a vast strength and speed gap between Ben's transformations and the other two. I think this is a mismatch.

New 52 Beast Boy can turn into demonic animals and animals from different planets as well. So whatever Ben can be, so can Beast Boy.

Animal Man has a chance.

Ben wins with a lot of variety.

Ben's aliens are sentient beings. Not animals.

Beast Boy can turn into a Phoenix or Dragon, but still Ben Wins, Way Big ftw

@rbt: Don't be an idiot. Any living thing that is not a plant is an animal. Whether it be a unicellular organism or a unicorn. He can turn into anything, it is only limited by his imagination. Dragons are fake as hell, unicorns are fake as hell, and so are demons. Yet he can turn into all of them. The only difference between dragons and aliens is that we have more reason to believe aliens exist. So if he can turn into a dragon, then he can turn into an alien. It's THAT simple.

@skit: What does being humanoid has to do with anything? Ben has many intelligent non humanoid aliens. Like Big Chill, Ghostfreak and others. BB has never shown ability to turn into an intelligent alien species. There's a reason he can't turn into a Krytptonian.

I don't know much about Animal Man so I am not the best person to argue about him. But Ben is not loosing to Beast Boy.

Do not just copy and paste definitions from google. There's still a debate on whether animals are sentient or not. Only Chimpanzee qualifies borderline as sentient. And it doesn't matter who is wrong about definition of sentient. What matters is that BB cannot turn into intelligent life forms, who can talk, think and plan. He never has. Why do you think he has never transformed into a Kryptonian or Martian or Tarmarean?

we aren't considered animals because for some reason people tend to think themselves to be better. though scientifically, were all animals, and all animals are sentient. theres only debate about whether water is sentient or not. though thats irrelevant here.

you posted a wrong word, admit it. DC is not a science lab, so they can afford to do things like this. using wrong words is a different matter.

As for this battle, I have no idea about animal man, but Best Boy is not defeating Ben. Neither is he turning into Ben's aliens.

and there is no debate, there are only too many cases on animals being able to perceive and be sentential. the only difference between 'humans' and 'animals' is nothing. the difference between humans and the rest of earths creatures is that were mentally superior thus thinking ourselves to be truly superior and therefore there is a difference between humans and animals. you can ignore this part, its just me ranting.

Not saying who wins cause I don't know about animal man enough but I don't see why beast boy can't turn into a vulpimancer?

@uchiha454: There was a question to writers of show regarding this. That is if vulipamancers are intelligent life form. They are. They can think like humans, can talk too. Garth might be able to turn into a vulipamancer, but that's all.

As for Animal Man, he can take traits/powers from pretty much any living life form. If pre 52 feats are allowed, he taken sun eater's speed to go fly at light speed and even Lightning Lad's powers since he's technically a Winathian. So basically he can become a kryptonian with all the powers of a martian. Basically he can have any powers that a race naturally has.

@rbt: Like I said before, don't be an idiot. Learn terms before you use them, animals ARE sentient beings. Garth has shown to turn into a fire breathing dragon, a mythological sentient being. Sentience is simply being able to sense properties of the universe with at least one of the 5 senses and having emotions. A dragon does this, yet beast boy can turn into non-sentient life forms as well such as amoebas. Amoebas do not have a nervous system, nor do they contain the nuclear capacity to feel emotions. I'm only making these points to show you that Beast Boy can turn into any living thing that is not a plant, and even mythological "living" things.

There is no debate over animals being sentient or not, we observe this in science. Brain patterns of animals have been observed when put in uncomfortable situations, and we can see the feelings that it triggers. The only debates I have seen are over bugs being sentient or not.

Chimpanzees are more than borderline sentient. You must be pulling this stuff from your a**hole. Cats, dogs, birds, crocodiles, deer, antelope, all have the ability to communicate, think and plan. Especially the predators from these bunch. We've seen flank style tactics from wolves in the wild, as well as lions. Canine Biologists also claim to understand patterns in a dogs tone and physical stance that relate to emotions and communicating with animals of it's same kind. When a dog growls at you, you know what it's saying, to say that these animals can't communicate, think, or plan is so ignorant. Read a goddamn book man.
