Battle of man kind-current vs old humans

Rules

• 1000 humans male on each side
• on the one side there is 1000 medieval nobles of 15 years old age from 13th and 14th century.
• on the other side there is 1000 normal guys of 15 years old age from this era.
• each side has 5 years of training. They will all get plate armor, sword, shield, dagger.
• Battles takes place on random grass plain.

Middle agers curvestomp

I wanna say current for the simple reason we currently have more advanced close quater fighting techniques. Without prep we would lose as I believe the middle agers would be tougher however I think 5 years of training would swing it to us.

we would get a better training since our time has more knowledge

but these days people are in worse shape, but most nobles weren't in as good shape as the average person who had to do all the work(but some trained to be knights and were in top shape)

so I want to say modern normal physical shape inst as good, but with the superior training and training techniques modern age might barely win

They would be tougher IMO, however we have a lot more better ways of making us win, e.g. way more martial arts; and we would have more advanced teaching.

Depending on who trains who, it changes.

If modern folks got top notch combat training and physical training, we would win. It would depend if they pulled a "No Child Left Behind" Attitude or not. If they do, modern dies miserably, if they don't, we win, we are better nourished, better trained, and bigger on average.

@mrnoital: About the shape its not true. Averag noble male is in very good health, already posses military training and has higher believes on battlefield. He starts with advantages basically.

do they start 5 years training at 15 or 10, that age as a noble isn't necessarily doing hard work, being some of the only people in the kingdom getting education
