Battle for New New Mombasa (read op)

You will crate a team of 5 heroes that must last atlest 3 hours against 10,000 Covenant troops

The enemy will consist of:

6700 grunts armed with plasma pistols and 2 plasma gernades

2000 Jackals (500 with plasma shields and 1500 covenant carbines)

1000 brutes (no chieftains all have standard gear)

100 Hunters

250 standard elites

Rules:

The covenant start out 3 miles away

Your team will 1 month of prep to lay traps.

Your heroes cannot have any off the following attributes:

No speedsters faster than quicksilver

No one with a durability higher than Luke cage

No stronger physically than the thing

No reality worpers

No weather altering

No time travel

No telepathic powers

No energy manipulation greater than miss marvel

All character have unlimited ammo but must reload

@jeanroygrant:They stand a chance for sure, the team really banks on the starting distance and prep time but they stand a good chance as long as cyclops stays alive.

They are transformers that are about 6 feet tall.

they aren't physically stronger than thing.

Rumble transformers his arms into a hydraulics system which can cause Tremors

Frenzy lets out a fear inducing frequency which makes anyone who hears it hallucinate, vomit, go insane, etc.

Ravage is a metal Jaguar with rockets on his back :P

damn... well that will be kinda hard.. seeing as how in IDW Rumble was KO'ed by an RPG to the face...

but in Marvel's run they were able to withstand Optimus' giant laser rifle...

so IDW run: Only with co-operation and speed, they can do it. Only.

@Army2442: Dazzler is the one who will be the key player in here. With her blasts she is no joke. Coupled up with lasers, holograms, invisibility, and can blind the enemy. Backlash along with spot would be a combo. Backlash can enter the battlefield unprotected because of his 3,000 year experience in combat, a Kherubim physiology, and his reflexes are fast enough to dodge and counter a bullet from point blank and dodging multiple lasers. Also, he can wreck many soldiers with his psi-whips. The Engineer would just stay above ground to avoid contact while she fires missiles or lasers. Spot then uses his ability to redirect the missiles and lasers to the targets to the Jackals. Finally, the Hood is there so he can instantly attack from the back by going invisible due to his cape and firing guns toward the startled soldiers.

@Army2442 well i wasnt sure if cannonball was breaking the rules cuz while in flight he;s near invulnerable, but cuz of his speed and energy blasts, archangel is quick and his wings razors would be dangerous to grunts and brutes. Madrox for his multiplying ability. give em a few guns or just have them be russian style canon fodder. Mimic from the exiles cuz he has the abilities of archangel, colossus, wolverine, cyclops, and beast (all a bit less powerful than the original, but still effective). Ult. Cap was chosen for his leadership, combat experience, and weapon proficiency. I view him as the closest thing to Master Chief lol. Havok was chosen for his raw power.

i dunno if they'd win but thats what i came up with. prob take a fair amount out. :(

The plot is simple. Madrox has a month to amass a sizeable army from which to defend New Mombasa. Equipping himself with as many SMGs as he can, he fills the streets and defensible positions. Invisible Woman erects a Forcefield around the city, preventing any Covenant from actually invading, and blocking out fire against the city. Her shields have taken blows from Thor and Galactus, so I think she can stand up to the bombardment from the Covenant fleet. Taking to the air will be Ms. Marvel and Polaris. Ms Marvel will engage in a dog fight with the Banshees and try to keep them occupied whilst Polaris goes about ripping the transport fleet to shreds with her Magnetic powers.

The Covenant should get thoroughly beaten by this, but if there is even a chance that we all lose... Well, Quake will be the final man standing, and remembering the words of Nick Fury, she'll take the fallen New Mombasa, and 'bring it all down' upon the Covenants heads.

Either way, Covenant die.

@Backflip: Nice scenario, I see the team taking it 7/10 times.

I am not really sure what sort of limit she has so I would have to assume she can do it long enough for this to work.

I dont know much about Halo but Id go with:

1- Batman 1000

2-QuickSilver

3-Invisible Woman

4-Deadpool

5-Wolverine

Invisible Woman would be the basic defender, like someone said already, even though she could probably be very offensive too. Deadpool and Wolverine would be good because of their HF and training. Batman 1000 is very powerfull and in conjunction with Quicksilver, they could use some cool tactics

EDIT: I think Id trade Deadpool with Northstar, too make it more diverse

@Jorgevy:Your team stands a chance only because of invisible woman and quicksilver, the rest get overrun QUICKLY they are physically outclassed.

My team is purely strategy based. Bucky will be perched in a vantage position and lay into the army with high-powered ranged weaponry after having set a variety of traps. As for the people on the ground, Ms. Marvel is the point-woman; she'll tangle with the hordes and hopefully provide a distraction of some kind. Obviously she'll be overrun, but Psylocke is on the ground helping, as her psionic blades can easily cut through the armour of the hordes. Also, Betsy will have established a telepathic link throughout the team (its not offensive telepathy, so it should be allowed) so they can communicate easily. 
 
As for Sue and Josh, Josh is the team healer but he needs protection. Sue is all about protecting him whilst he heals people. This team is pure defence - they're not going to beat the army but they'll definitely hold off.
