With one month prep, Batman could probably pull something off.
This reminds me of Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan vs Ozymandias. In fact, the battle is pretty much the same. While Dr. Manhattan had powerful, near omnipotent powers, the bad guy had tactical intelligence.
He psychoanalyzed Dr. Manhattan, and devised a way to make him leave Earth. Even when Dr. Manhattan came back to fight him, he devised a room that used some type of energy similar to Dr. Manhattans to block his ability to see the future - and then ambushed him with the original machine that vaporized his human form.
Then, even when Dr. Manhattan came back as a giant fist coming through his ceiling, he convinced Dr. Manhattan that he was right, thus fullfilling his plan - and beating him. His methodology made logical sense, it wasn't simply plot device or whatever.
I could see Batman pulling something similar off against the Silver Surfer.

Except 1) Ozymandias had years to do what he did. 2) Surfer is not nearly as psychologically fragile as Manhattan. 3) Surfer doesn't have a simple tachyon weakness Manhattan does.

1. True. 2. This claim is based on what? 3. I wasn't indicating that he'd use the same exact thing, but he might do something similar. Either way, at no prior point did we hear that Dr. Manhattan had a weakness, correct? That means it was discovered. In the same sense, if anyone could discover a weakness in the Silver Surfer, it could be Batman.
However, the main point of my post is that a tactical genius could possibly take down a cosmic level entity, though maybe not to the point of death, with planning and strategy. The specifics are inconsequential.

I know you didn't imply he'd use the same thing. My point is that Surfer doesn't have any weakness of such caliber to be exploited, and unless a comic states otherwise, Batman isn't going to find a weakness to exploit.

I don't understand. The "sharpest knife" metaphor refers to intelligence. Intelligence and psychological fortitude aren't the same thing. So, if you're saying he's unintelligent, that doesn't mean that he's psychologically fragile.
My point was that Dr. Manhattan didn't have that weakness, aformentioned, until it was used. Similarly, Silver Surfer doesn't have a weakness we know of. You can't say Batman is definitely not going to find a weakness, just because it hasn't happened in comics. It's possible Batman can discover one.
id really love to see bats win here cause he fights everyone without super powers so respect,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,BUT, ss might be just that step too far for him even with prep,he will defo need help from the big dc hitters,even then im not sure because they cant fight for him,just advise him,so ss wins imo.
I will not be surpise if Batman find a way to drain Silver Surfer powers. He did reenigineer the boom tube which is one of the most advance technology in the universe.
Good god is this serious. I don't care if Batman got a hold of 100 nuclear bombs and some how hit Surfer with them all without killing himself, he couldn't even put a dent in Surfer. Batman loses in under a second. Something similar to this would happen:
What the hell is prep worth if you have no hope of lasting more than 3 seconds against your enemy no matter what you do or how long you have?
Batman spends about a few weeks upgrading his Insider Suit and adding a whole lot of new features. I don't know if Batman can beat him but it will be a very interesting fight.
Black Panther has prep for Silver Surfer and it worked, but it was just a fraction of the prep he had for Galactus. There was no telling how long it took him to put it together.
