Everybody's saying how Bats couldn't hurt Reed and how smart Reed is, but has anybody come up with a way Reed would beat Batman? The whole engulfing him is ridiculous. Bats has continually been shown to have freezing agents and heat agents in his belt. If Reed smothered Bats then a healthy dose of electricity would put that #@!$ to a hult real quick. And yes Bats has something that shoots electricity in there to.

I just don't see Reed being able to wrap up Batman like it was nothing. Mr.Fantastic is a genius but not a combat genius. He's the guy you call if you need a plan worked out and have two weeks to do it. Batman can adapt on the fly in combat, I don't see Reed doing much other then getting laid out.

In addition to what Sling Shot said, here's some other stuff (it might overlap, I'm not rereading): Reed could shove parts of himself down Batman's throat, choke him until his eyes explode, engulf him until he suffocates (if his arms are restrained he's not reaching for any gadgets), throw him into junk, smash him with incredibly dense limbs, snap his neck and I'm sure he can come up with other attacks. We went over the freezing thing already, and the heat thing is pretty much the same. It's not like he carries a flame thrower (Reed has gone through flames anyway, the heat would have to be extreme). He carries a cutting torch. It'd be hot enough (maybe) but if he can't reach it (hands restrained) he can't use it, and even if he can, that one little point of heat is not enough. Same for tasers, and electricity was mentioned too.

This guy has been fighting badguys for years, some of which (Doom for instance) are brilliant when it comes to strategy and warfare. Not saying he's as good as Batman in that area, but you don't think he's picked up anything from them?

Reed not only has that elasticity which is extremely difficult to combat, he has insane knowledge dude built a time machine man...bats can't beat that

Reed rarely participates in the physical defeat of anyone, that is the Thing, Torch, and Sue's job. Reed is like if a WoW player got elastic powers. Batman is already prepared to take on someone with elastic powers at all time since Clayface is one of his common enemies. He doesn't need liquid nitrogen, he just needs Mr. Freeze's freezing technology which doesn't use liquid nitrogen it uses some Cryonic something or other. Before Reed even thinks of moving, Batman has launched a Bat-Bola and a Flashbang. The Flashbang goes off keeping Reed from dodging the Bat-Bola. Once the Bat-Bola connects he electrifies it and Reed recoils in pain. Batman deploys his Cryonic Capsules and pulls out a victory. All of the things I have used in this battle are said to be in his utility belt according to Wikipedia.

Reed would probably win with prep by making a crazy invention. Batman wins a random encounter if he has extreme heat or cryogenic gadgets. He is also a better strategist and tactician in battle.
