Batman vs Green Goblin
Batman would take it more likely, then. He does have a lot of experience crazy super villains, and he's beaten Superman level threats from nothing but previous knowledge and skill.
Batman has taken down flying opponents in the past. And if you really want to talk about gear, Bats has him beat.
Batman is one of the most intelligent people in the DCU. Green Goblin is a phychopath who has only become a major Spider-Man villian because he's good at manipulating events and tormenting Spider-Man without a physical confrontation. When thought about seriously, he is no match at all for Spider-Man in a 1-on-1 fight.
Batman will curbstomp Gobby.
Green Goblin. He's got super strehgth and speed, the glider, and an arsenal of weapons that way outclasses anything batman ... [more]
And yet, for all his (mild) superhuman powers and relatively cool tech, he is an absolute, bona fide, no doubt about it, raise your hand if you know this one, all out, DUMB @ZZ when put into comparison with the Dark Knight.
I really can't belive so many people actually think bats can win thus. GG is FAR faster, FAR stronget, more agile, better reflexes, FAR more durable, and one pumpkin bomb is more than enough.
@dark_king said:bats ftw 6/10 due to gadgets and use of terrain.
My god these people are STUPID! I'm sorry but M_Man, Ferro Vida and all you other barfans are mistaken. Goblin easily one shot batman. Gobs fights SPIDERMAN. And spiderman is a WAY bigger threat then bat boy. Goblin wins this with no effort. He's as strong as spiderman and way more durible. The only reason batman is winning hear os cuz batfans love to spam threads that spite batman with "batman win". I can't belive this community has been tarnished by such arrogance. GG wins so easy!
Well, Osborne isn't known to have the most...stable of minds, and I honestly believe that Batman is smarter in most areas than him. Also, a little more info would be nice. I mean, where are they fighting? Where do they start out, 10 feet away? Does Bats have access to ALL his tech batplane, batmobile, etc.?
@linestar: You may be right. But you went about debating it the wrong way. So for the sake of mere principle, I'm going to argue for Bats.

As much as I love Green Goblin, I am going for batman on this one, because he has genius-level intellect, a peak physical and mental conditioning, a master martial artist, a acrobat, a detective, a escapologist, a strategist, a swordsman, a tactician, a marksman, the use of high-tech equipment, weapons, armors, gadgets, a master of stealth, a master of disguise, highly proficient with technology, trained computer hacker, photographic memory.
To add more taking down Green Goblin is almost the exact same thing as taking down Firefly (Whom is a Batman enemy)
@sheenlantern: In theory, yes.
Batman has some superhuman feats doe.

@jmarshmallow: Show me a scan of Batman bench pressing a bus.
@sheenlantern: Why would I do that? When did I once compare Bat's strength to GG's?

This gon be good.
@wolverine08: You forgot the GIF!

Could see an argument for either one... but personally in a random encounter green goblin would win. He is physically superior to Batman. I see Goblin beating batman silly but Batman escaping. Next time they fought it would likely be a win for Bats though. Because of course he would have his greatest weapon... the almighty prep time.
Without PIS Norman absolutely one shots batman. With his glider he mows him down. GG 8/10, being generous
Ive seen Firefly mentioned a couple times...is he really as big of a threat as Goblin has proven to be? : /
Green goblin is about ten times stronger than batman by feats. By feats Batman has shown strength and stamina of a 1-1.5 ton low end meta human. This may be a matter of skill, training, and equipment.
Green goblin has a disadvantage in gear, but his physical strength is not going to tell unless he grapples Bats. And if he grapples Batman, it is over. I love Batman as a fighter, but he would lose h2h with Green Goblin.
But. If it is a battle of toys over Gotham, Batman wins. He just has more to bring to bear against GG. New 52 makes this a stomp in terms of gear.
Standard gear has GG taking it 5.5/10. Bats has countermeasures for exosuits, street level meta humans, and flying gear. His morals and honor would let him get cocky and go hand to hand.
All the people claiming one shot need to realize that damage from a punch is determined by the speed of the punch and the mass that delivers it. GG can throw blows around the speed of Spider-Man, which is near 200 mph. His kinetic energy would be that of a high caliber rifle round.
Batman can catch arrows at 300 mph. In peak condition he has dodged a bullet AFTER it was fired from a rifle (detective comics "city of crime"). He has also punched a handgun bullet with his fist.
In brief, batman would not get beat by GG in a hand to hand fight because of speed of blows or GG's reflexes. He will lose hand to hand because Batman's gear has no answer for 20,000 lbs of force pulling him apart.
Good lord, if Norman gets his hands on a tired Batman, he would be strong enough to literally shred his body armor with his bare hands.
Green goblin on this, agree with previous comments regarding his abilities, Batman is awesome but without prep I think GG is well equipped to take him on.
The hate is real.
Batman wins via vastly superior skill and tactics. Goblin takes some knock out darts to the face (unless GG can time and dodge them, which I'll need scans for).
@wolverine08: no. The only way batman can realistically get one shotted is if he gets hit with enough force to overcome his armor.
And GG cannot force it with a punch or kick. Green Goblin's bombs are more effective than his punching power. In terms of results, Batman using the right gauntlets could and did as much damage as spicy punching full out. Spider man can move and punch at best at 200 mph. Enough to kill an non-armored human, but not enough to kill someone with some of the best light armor in comics. Any win that Osbourne will get will come from his healing factor and raw strength. As I posted previously. But Batman will know to go heavy when he first gets punched. And Norman would lose a brutal and sprawling fight in Gotham. He might win a small majority in New York. But Bats rarely shows the same regard for restrained weaponization of the environment against a superior foe when the environment is not the one he swore to cherish and protect.
But if the first close quarters exchange is any form of grapple, Batman dies. Norman Osborne is like Bruce Wayne with the Joker as his alter ego.
