Batman Vs Darth Vader

Random encounter. Batman is leaving Wal Mart after grocery shopping and walks to his car, he sees Vador landing his Ship on top of his car. Batman throws a banana at his ship, they exchange heated words, and both turn bloodlust.

• no Lighting/Force
• batman does no have his gadgets, but he notices a lightsaber laying by him and picks it up, so both are armed with an lightsaber.
• Fight to the death
• Batman knows what a lightsaber is and knows how to use it

Bats kills himself with the lightsaber he tries to use, Vader doesn't even really need to attack.

I second this. Lightsabers way as much as feathers. He is going to try to have a swing of it and then cut his arm off. It would be better without the saber.

This whole "nobody can use a lightsaber" crap is ridiculous.

I agree with Wolfrazer, batman having no idea what a lightsaber is let alone how to use one would either kill himself or be killed by Vader before he figured out where the on button was.

You may be thinking that a lightsaber's similar to a sword and their for batman can use it but I assume the weightlessness of the plasma blade would take quite a bit of getting used to.

@gilad_the_one: How is it ridiculous? It's canon. There has to be a connection to The Force, in order for one to properly wield a lightsaber, sure one could try it but they won't get very far and eventually will maim themself.

Batman is far from an idiot.

Batman knows what a lightsaber is and knows how to use it ( Etc: like where the on button is and its weight and such)

Vader is much faster than Batman, due to his training as a Jedi.

That still won't help really, he's not gonna be able to fully utilize the blade with no connection to The Force. More to that, Vader is still a far faster combatant and better blademaster.

Vader stomps in a few seconds and proceeds to enjoy the low, low prices of the largest retail store in the galaxy.

Didn't Han Solo use one and was actually pretty good with it? He never fought with it, but I'm pretty sure he showed that he could use it. This was probably just some bad writing, but I do kind of remember this happening in a novel. Not saying your point is wrong at all, because this is just an extreme outlier. I agree that Batman isn't going to really do much with a lightsaber besides hut himself.

@tparks: Only instance I know of him using a saber, is ESB and that wasn't in a combat scenario, he merely just used it as a cutting implement. That is fine...he was careful with it and didn't really do much, but for fast paced combat that a lightsaber duel entails...it's not going to go very far, at best you can do some simple swings, you ain't gonna be pulling off anything great without maiming yourself or killing.

That's probably what I was thinking of.

@milliardo: Does "no Force" mean Vader cant use any Force power at all?

@willpayton: Probably means offensive wise yeah, considering no lighting, although Vader can't use lighting anyway. Even still, Vader doesn't have to use The Force offensively at all.

No Force Push, No Force Choke, No Lightning. you get the point

But what about other Force powers? Is he basically just a regular human for this fight?

Batman has decent sword fighting feats but not like Darth Vader.

@thebestofthebest: I know, but that fight lasted way longer than it actually should have and I seriously lol'd at the fact that Bats wasn't immediately disarmed as he tried using a lightsaber, or rather actually being able to use one.

Cad Bane used a light saber with out getting rekked and some random street thugs in SWTCW took Ashoka's light saber and we're using it like pro's.
