Nick, actually dude they announced yesterday in interview that the webseries WILL be canon backstories to the characters prior to the games release...Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Jax, Sonya, Reptile and Baraka...I just hope they do a good job with it. The Rebirth trailer alone owned, I'm sure after this web series and MK9 doing well(which I'm sure it will) we'll finally see a new movie, hopefully THIS gritty....
Oh I'm sure they'll do a movie for sure, but if they do go the route of computer, animation I hope they do CGI, dark, gritty like the Krato/Sub-Zero/Scorpion, it should look like that...
Not a big fan of anime and I'd want it to be, dirty, gritty, bloody too you know? Keep it dark and serious, not so much PG13ish

With a anime they can have plenty of blood and gore that they wouldnt put in a movie, if they made another movie it would most likely be PG-13.
