Wait, you said gear from his late Knightfall, but the picture is of his first suit.

Didn't he upgrade the hell out of it during Knightquest: The Crusade?

He reinforced the suit so that he could tank explosions and flame, reinforced the helmet by quite a margin and made the cape so tough it deflected bullets and broke knives when plunged into them.

There was a time when he took bullets through the armor/cape. Prime examples being when he fought the Tally-man. but by the end, he reinforced the suit so much that he could tank explosions and flame, bullets and even knives would just break on impact.
