1. Asura can only go into his Mantra Form(Only Part 1 to 3 feats)

the guy's the freaking hulk of video games (even more so than the video game hulk ). sephiroth gets pummeled.

@colliderz: what qualifies as fantasy? Asura is at least a plane buster with his weak energy blasts. He also tanked a planet busting blast without any scratches . This was all in his most powerful form.

Then there was completely atomizing a planet sized Wyzen.

I'd say asura is at most a Galaxy level threat.

A really slow threat, but a threat none the less.

asura at highest can destroy a couple stars, Solasystem+

not more and not less

@imperator_nocturne: to me, there is a difference between "threat" and "buster".

Buster means you can destroy the said category (planetary, galaxy, universal) with ease or virtually without effort.

Threat would mean you have the means to do serious damage to or destroy said category, in a lengthier time-frame.

I was reffereing to likes of Darksiders, Final Fantasy, DMC, GOW etc. that you usually see in Video Game threads and what I meant was about Asura being leagues above these kind of people(as OP has made similiar threads like this before)

Actually an interesting match-up. Disregarding the context behind why it was made, I believe the win would go to Asura.

He is massively faster and stronger than Sephiroth, and like sephiroth, he essentially has infinite stamina. That being said, I don't recall Asura having any defenses against illusory attacks and while he's Mantra form was stated to being equivalent to his Carnage which was equivalent to the Brahmastra, I still doubt he'd be able to survive a Super Nova...probably. Though honestly, that's about the only thing Sephiroth has in his arsenal that could take probably take him out and even then it's dependent on whether or not he'd be able to land it. He could probably utilise spatial slashes to ignore his durability but once again, I am not sure if he'd be able to land them or deal a fatal blow with them.

That being said, Asura has a couple of resistances of his own. Seeing as how he cannot stay dead, that'd make him resistant to Sephiroth's death magic. He's also tanked and replicated the Shun Goku Satsu so he has added options on how to permanently put Sephiroth down, not just "erase him from his existence" but instead do that and "erase his soul so as to seal off the option regarding him returning to the life stream"

And side note, the concepts revolving the Life Stream and Gaia are pretty similar, an added reasoning besides "my favourite characters are facing off"

Sephiroth's supernova is powerful enough to completely destroy an alternate/parallel dimension which makes galaxies look small (the red circle is the galaxy before it zoomed in), and has a wide array of other countless planets being shown in the background all throughout the attack. While it may seem like a solar system level feat at face value, it's actually been confirmed as much more, as it's been described that everything was destroyed. This is the raw translation for the attack.

Also, he no sold this same attack as it was exploding on him. Along with that, Sephiroth has also repeatedly been shown to be the strongest character in all of FF7. The creators have even said before that they couldn't hope to make anyone stronger than him. Which means this would be a rather lackluster feat from him given that there are other summons who can do essentially the exact same thing, such as Bahamut Fury and the Knights of the Round.

It's confirmed that the dimension was destroyed in the Ultimania.

As for Bahamut Fury, this is confirmed to be his dimension.

Also if you want to count Dissidia, he's able to fight on par
