we have seen ares hold his own against hercules despite being no where near hercules level of strength (60 tons versus a guy who lifts 1,000,000,000,000 of tons) he gets hercules strength here
Hercules fighting skills are very close to Ares and Herc has a psychological advantage from trouncing Ares time and again. Herc has the heart of a warrior, champion and hero; Ares is a blackhearted thug who will fold in a mathc this even and hard fought.

I agree ares even thou out classed in their old encounters always held his ground but even it up ares has all the advantage over hercules .
