I respect Mephisto ( he did tie with Galactus once afterall ), but Archangel Michael is THE second most powerful being in the DC Universe, while Mephisto would be lucky if he could make top 25 in the Marvel Universe.

Michael's not a son of God. He's an angel. Theologically speaking, angel's are just messengers and servants of God. If I'm misreading you're statement, my bad. You were talking about Michael?
Semantics. By sons I mean they(or at least Lucifer) has referred to it as "father"(and he them as his "sons"). Michael was one of the Prescences' first two(and finest) creations. If that doesn't fit the definiton of a 'paternal relationship', I don't know what would.......
Oh, okay. In theology, that doesn't happen, because technically they're not God's sons. That's what I thought you meant; I thought you were referring to theologies. My bad. That's true. In comics, writers take a lot of liberties with mythologies and theologies. So, you're right. In comics they are sometimes considered God's sons.

That's right. I didn't mean Archons. I meant archangels. That's true. Cherubim reside lower than the seraphim. Lucifer also was another archangel. He was a superior musician. Gabriel was usually said to be the messenger of the three, Lucifer being the musician, and Michael being the soldier, so to speak. Of course, I don't think they were limited to only one form of task, but if I understand correctly, those were usually the purposes they served. Now, actually, if my memory serves me well, Lucifer may have actually been composed of instruments that were engraved into his being. Correct me if I'm wrong.
