Aqualad (YJ) vs Captain America (MCU)

Aqualad from Young Justice vs Captain America from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Each believes that the other is a serious threat that must be stopped.

They have basic information on each other

Starting Distance is 25 feet. Fight takes place in a dojo.

Cap has his suit from Winter Soldier, Kaldur has his regular suit (not his Manta Armor).

Victory by KO or death

Round 1:

Cap has his shield

Kaldur does not have his water bearers

Random encounter

Round 2:

Cap has his shield

Kaldur has his water bearers and usual amount of water

Both have 2 hours prep (again, with basic information as well as anything they learned from Round 1)

Scenario 1: Cap. Though Kaldur could win it if be plays smart.

Scenario 2: Kaldur stomps.

What do you think gives Cap round 1 and Aqualad round 2?

Round 1: Cap - He's stronger and better at combat than Kal

Round 2: Kaldur stomp - Kal becomes a superhuman with the bearers, and he could easily take him out.

Kaldur's superhuman without the water bearers, he's not too far behind Superboy. Combat skill I agree with

Cap wins round 1, but barely. He may be faster than Kaldur, but he doesn't have his level of super strength.

Aqualad stomps round 2. Hard water constructs and bioelectricity make him too much to handle for Cap.

Kaldur lost to Black Beetle, he didn't use skill to take Superboy down as much as his bio electricity and Superboy's anger

No, Season 1 AL could still brawl with Conner and had amazing control over water along with bio-electrical discharge.

Blue took down Black Beetle by himself. Aqualad engaged Black briefly then got blasted away.

The water in his pack is more than enough for Cap. If he throws his shield, Kaldur could just catch it in his water, discard it, and proceed to destroy a weaponless Cap who isn't going to evade him for long in a place like a dojo.

@justthatkid: Kaldur didn't do anything effective in that fight. Black was going to destroy Blue's scarab, but the scarab and Jamie overpowered him and destroyed his scarab instead.

Kaldur took Superboy, Lagoon Boy, and Impulse with help from the Terror Twins, Icicle Jr., and inhibitor collars. He threatened to blow up Mt Justice if Blue didn't surrender

@blackwind: what if Cap doesn't throw his shield? And it's not like that'd be the first time Cap has had his shield thrown or taken away and needed to retrieve it

@justthatkid: iirc the Terror Twins were there when Superboy was collared. You're right, Aqualad did later help take Blue down, because of his magic, and the scarabs are vulnerable to magic. Iirc Impulse tried to attack the Terror Twins but couldn't hurt them, then got grabbed @blackwind: well if the fight comes to close quarters he's not gonna be throwing it much

Kal both rounds. He was strong enough in season 1 to hold back Superboy momentarily, as well as take hits from him. I hate to do ABC logic, but

When has Cap ever shown to hit pressure points or anything similar? He usually just throws punches and relies on his physical superiority to take down an opponent. Plus, Aqualad is no slouch in h2h either, hasn't he had extensive training with Black Canary? And took down Robin in sparring if I'm not mistaken.

Idk exactly, but I would assume Cap's fighting knowledge would include some knowledge of where to hit people, even if it's not actually pressure points.

He's had training, but he doesn't have h2h showings equal to Cap imo. I remember him sparring with Robin, but there wasn't really a winner

Movie Cap doesn't actually have any training, just experience in WW2 (much of which we never saw).

@night4345: I thought he had training between Avengers and Winter Soldier, he certainly seemed to have training in Winter Soldier

If he did get some then it's probably not much (how much time actually passed in the universe?).

@night4345: Couple years I think? Cap learns at an accelerated rate though, plus comic book logic. Comparing the fight scenes from before Cap 2 and in Cap 2, he seems much more skilled imo

He took out fodder with the equal ease. He seemed better because he fought hand to hand with people instead of firefights like in Cap 1.

He had hand to hand fights in Cap 1 and Avengers, and he seemed much more skilled in Cap 2 from what I've seen, even against fodder imo.

You don't think Cap could come up with some stuff with prep, maybe something to take advantage of Kaldur's weakness to extreme heat?

@arcus: I don't think it'll really matter. Kal could probably put him down fast enough so that he doesn't even get a chance.

@arcus: didn't think about that, it doesn't say no out side help, so he has Ironman build him some sort of heat device, then he strikes Kaldur, but I think Cap may have a problem fighting a kid

How do you see Kaldur putting Cap down so quickly?

Well I wasn't really thinking of Iron Man getting involved, but I would think Cap has his own resources to get tech and weapons too. Unless he lost all those with SHIELD's collapse or whatever happened (I haven't actually seen Winter Soldier entirely, just the fight scenes and other clips and some spoilers)

@arcus: well he isn't very techno smart, that's why he goes to Stark for help building his machine

@arcus: I guess he could, but it would take a while
