Galactus backed off because Reed Richards had the Ultimate Nullifer. Namor nearly took Apocalypse out by throwing a table at him =P

Apocalypse is no where near the most powerful mutant either.

He is not even close to being the most powerfull mutant. Galactus is also one with the embodiment of the previous universe. Compared to him Apoc is less than dust in the wind.
