Somebody's got AoA fever...

I'm leaning towards Generation Next. Strong Guy was kind of a punk, and most of them are going to have trouble taking out Colossus and Shadowcat.

Damnit though, now you're going to make me dig up all the AoA books when I go home this weekend

Can a mod/admin please fix the typo in my title?  It should read "X-Ternals."

I have the first trade...I just need to stop writing long enough to read it. I've been on a tear lately.

Yeah, it's an expensive story to follow, considering there's four "complete epic" books that are like $20-30 each.  So, if your local Barnes n Noble / library etc has them in stock, buy a coffee and read it in the store, lol.

Generation NExt should be able to take out the X-Ternals pretty quickly. The X-Ternals really aren't that powerful and Colossus, Chamber and Shadowcat can take out Gambit, Jubilee and Strong Guy. Skin is a liability here, but even then, they should be able to win. Especially Shadowcat - she was incredibly dangerous in AOA, and is capable of ripping through the three above by herself using her phasing and claws. I see the X-Ternals crying out desperately for Lila to teleport them as Kitty carves their hearts out.

@k4tzm4n: Does Chamber have projectiles? Cause if he does, Sunspot's weak ass durability makes him an easy target. If not, I don't see how Colossus can't run up and KO him and or toss something/someone at him.

Does he usually?  I'm only on book 3, lol.  Well, I'd imagine  Gambit or Strong Guy can stop him.  Gambit kills the dude and Strong  Guy one-shot BFR'd friggin' Gladiator, lol.

@k4tzm4n: Yeah, Sunspot has pretty impressive output, but he has like regular human durability, it's kind of a bad deal. And who did Gambit kill again?

Also, I need to see this alleged Strong Guy one shot, I can't see it being possible unless Gladiator was confused about the situation.

Definitely.

Gambit killed Colossus.

ALLEGED? You insult me, sir! lol.  It's when Gambit and his team are first ported to the planet.  The Imperial Guard confronts them.  Various 1v1s take place, and Strong Guy one-shot BFRd Gladiator.  I'm sure he was fine, but he got smacked out of the fight.

@k4tzm4n: Oh yeah, Gambit kills him after he tramples Shadowcat. Damnit, I really need to read these series again.

I vaguely remember that fight with the Imperial Guard, they all turn into crystals or something at the end.

I tried making a scan via cell phone pic, but it looks like garbage.  So, summary it is.

(via final issue of Book 2)
Panel 1: Gladiator flies at team with a huge piece of debris.
Panel 2: Strong-Guy yells at the team to stay behind him.
Panel 3: Strong-Guy gets smashed.  "Thakka koom!" sound effect for LuLz.
Panel 4: Gladiator: "Tis done" as he stands over the debris.

Panel 5: Strong Guy's arm uppercutting Gladiator. SKAPOW!  Yeah, that noise is for real.
Panel 6: Strong Guy elaborting on his power to absorb and direct kinetic energy..then states "oh, what's the use--he won't be able to hear me anyway...until he comes backdown to the planet!"

AoA Strong Guy, one-shot BFRing like a boss since the 90s.
Gladiator, jobbing regardless of the Universe he's in.

I'm not underestimating him. He's actually the only member of the X-Ternals I think would not be easily taken out. The other three are more vulnerable.

  Yeah, Chamber's main offensive power is a blast from his chest. Here's a picture of Chamber's psionic-fueled nuclear fission energy blast.

If I recall correctly, Gambit was only able to kill Colossus because Pete was traumatized after he accidentally killed Shadowcat trying to reach Illyana. He was just standing there in horror, so they weren't exactly in a pitched battle. And didn't Gambit kill him from behind?

@PhoenixoftheTides:
I never elaborated on the conditions of Colossus's death, just that Remy killed him--which is true.  Yes, he took him out with a flank attack, but the point is to prove Gambit does indeed have the power to damage/harm Colossus.  I'd imagine Strong Guy does too, since he took a huge hit from Gladiator and gave him one in return (resulting in a bfr).

I'm not saying Gambit's team wins, I'm just trying to stir more of a debate.  Glad to see it worked :D

@PhoenixoftheTides

No, I know that's Chamber's primary method of attack, but I didn't know what he meant by "projectiles."  I'm still on book 3 so I wasn't sure if Chamber later on used other methods as weaponry as a back-up.
