I think I am getting better. But now I'm still learning about the basics. Anyone can help me more? Oh can you tell me about spites and things like that?
Anyone can help me improve my threads?
You should read the rules and FAQ.
What helped me a lot was searching other threads with characters I wanted to use, so I could gauge how members felt about certain individuals (despite the fanboys) in order to make a decent fight.
Unfortunately, mostly everything has been done 1 on 1, so nowadays 2 on 2's or gauntlets seem to be the only threads that work.

- Read the stickied threads thoroughly.
- Do lots and lots of research.
- Use characters that you personally know, not just characters you heard about.

A spite is any battle where there is absolutely zero chance of one side beating the other. Most often they are used to just make one character look bad....sometimes they happen simply because the Poster has no idea about one or both of the characters involved.
No. A spite is a battle created with a clear winner in mind. A mismatch is one-sided battle that was created unintentionally, i.e. the user didn't have enough information on the involved characters to know it was a one-sided fight.
What i meant though is sometimes a mismatch battle can be seen as Spite when it isn't actually intentionally so.@Shawnbaby said:

That happens.

So, are you saying I can only use Spider-Man in a battle if I've created a dimensional transporter and used it to travel inside Marvel Comics, then sought Peter Parker out and personally got to know him? That seems a bit unnecesary.
