An experiment in company bias: Hulk and Superman vs Thor and Lobo

Typically, when a duo is paired off, the Marvel characters are lumped together and the DC characters are too.

This isn't really about rehashing the same old rivalries but a test to see which company the board thinks is more powerful. If all goes as planned (which I'm not sure it will), we might catch a glimpse of where opinions differ greatly.

PIS and CIS on, no prep, incentive to win but no more bloodlust than normal. Standard equipment. No outside interference. Fight takes place on the asteroid Shayhol prior to "Apokolips Now." The only advance knowledge the combatants get is what they already know (assume for thread purposes that JLAvengers counts). A kill, KO, or incapacitation for at least 10 seconds counts as a win. BFR is not allowed - I want to see some brawling!

Please give a reason, any reason, no matter how stupid, as to why you picked who you did. Please and thank you.

I'm still trying to figure out who's being serious or not.

Thor and Lobo. Either can take the Hulk without too much trouble, and while Superman can give either a hard time, he won't be able to beat them both together.

Hulk takes out Lobo rather easily after a few minutes of listening to his so called banter. While Superman and Thor duke it out. In the end Superman is standing over Thor and his hammer in victory.

With PIS on lobo can fight equally to Superman. With Thor together supes stands no chance and Hulk is no deciding factor for the battle.

Lobo has shown to be a match for Supes and there are many threads arguing that Thor is a match for Supes. Now here's the thing, Thor loses to Hulk due to his love for a brawl but he has the power to defeat the Hulk. Now, I do believe that Lobo can beat Hulk cause it would take Hulk too long to reach a level capable of KO-ing Lobo.

In this battle PIS and CIS apply and with those Supermans speed is a non facotr because Lobo has brawled with him several times with Supes not using his speed.

I think you should keep in mind, that Wonder Woman was able to slit Superman's throat with her magical brace. I imagine Thor (with his awesome strenght) hitting Superman with Mjolnir (a magical weapon) would do a lot of serious and game changing damage.    Yeah, Superman could fly up with Lobo sticking to him, but that would make the Hulk even more useless. Thor can fly too and throw Mjolnir with the speed of light. A little distraction by Lobo (I imagine him biting Superman's ear!) could do the trick and Mjolnir would strike - strike hard.While I'm someone who always talks about the advantages of the speed in a fight, which would be a huge plus for Superman, it would still be hard as hell, mainly because of the morals on Superman's side. He is the one with the biggest morals in this fight, so I don't think that his superspeed would grant him an easy speedblitz in this fight.

I would say Thor and Lobo win due to magic and the possibility of loony tunes feats, but PIS and CIS are on. And with that being the case, Hulk and Superman win, because the writers would know which fans to cater to.

Team 2 wins because for some reason Hulk is in this fight against people who are way out of his league.

If PIS is on then Hulk> Thor and Superman cancels out Lobo so Team 1.Without PIS team 2 all day.

A drunk Lobo has matched superman easily many times matched Captain Marvel, Mon-el (with Help, Mon-el had the help that is) as well as fought the JLA (to their chagine). He's moved Stellar mass, and heals/regerates almost instantly, and in those fights with Supe's Cap and Mon-el matched them in speed and reaction time. With PIS AND CIS on he will easily take down either of team 1. Thor written to potential could take on either therefore team 2 FTW.

Supes and Hulk Lobo is way to inconsistent he can fight Superman or get defeated by Hitman and Section 8 in the same week. Than you have to take in Superman's speed and h2h combat into consideration and it is a done. I'm not even going to touch the Superman vs Thor issue considering what a hot button it is and I'm not in the mood for that. But to many times Hulk has been show to fight Thor on a equal level or at least put up a great fight. So after Superman KO's Lobo Thor can't take Superman and The Hulk.

Being defeated by Hitman was Lobo's worst showing ever, and it's not a recurring thing. Normally, when he fights Superman he does it evenly, give or take. If the DC 1st is not a retcon (I honestly can't tell if it is or not), then Lobo already outfought and speedblitzed Superman in their first encounter. Even if it doesn't count, Lobo's displayed immense superspeed at times, and aside from Superman's dubious Asgard time and him beating up Kobra, Lobo has been brawling for 382 years or so. He constantly picks fights with aliens who are a threat to him.

For speed, Lobo dodged a barrage of missiles at near-lightspeed on his bike, scrapped robots in literally less than a panel, reacted faster than Deadman could think, displayed Jason Voorhees levels of superspeed in Omega Men, fought an opponent with blades so fast people thought it was a twister, defeated Angel Eyes (might not count, but just here in case it does), caught three bullets with his teeth, and he will dodge Greased Lightning in the 853rd Century .

And it isn't as if Lobo's highest showings are against Superman and are abberations. He nearly solo'd the Authority for what it's worth (I realize crossovers get thrown out here but it was referenced in 52), the Sh'iar Imperial Guard (again, it may or may not be admissible but it's food for thought since JLAvengers was supposed to "count"), he punched out Poseidon's eye in one hit, ripped off Kali's arms with ease, KO'd Eclipso, tossed Captain Marvel who wasn't shown getting back up, got the better of Valor (who left afterimages but still got hit by Lobo), brawled with Alan Grant's Etrigan evenly, helped kill Belial, fought Glonth and was kicking his tail, did surprisingly well against Pax, outknifed Santa in a fight that lasted for days, punched the Easter Bunny so hard half the planet crumbled, fought angels and demons and came up winning, hurt Wonder Woman with a casual backhand that sent her flying, took on L.E.G.I.O.N. and was winning, did better against the Iceman than R.E.B.E.L.S. did, made Pulsar Stargrave incredulous as to his strength and durability, fought a possessed Captain Comet with amp'd powers, fought Sinestro, Hal, and Star Sapphire simultaneously, fought Jack T. Chance, nearly killed a distracted Hal, took on the JLI quite well, fought Guy Gardner several times (as a Green Lantern, with Sinestro's ring, and as Warrior), fought Martian Manhunter evenly even though J'Onn hit him with the mental whammy too (this was in Last Sons so maybe it's not admissible, but just in case it is), and beat Supergirl at armwrestling.
