Both are ordered to assassinate each other. Who wins?
Altair vs. Ezio (Assassins Creed battle)
Ezio is more capable in-game, but most of the advancements came from Altair's journals, so that leads me to think that Altair had mastered all of those things himself after the timeframe of the first game.
I like Altair better, personally.
Don't you have any larger type-face?
Write it bigger! I mean, way way, WAY bigger. It sounds more truth-y that way.
Yeah I was thinking about Ezio's gun afterward. He does have better weaponry.
Okay for weapons let's just say they both have throwing knives, a sword, and the hidden blades (Altair one, Ezio has two)
And location...hmm..a place where neither know there way around. Um...Germany? lol

Check the updated rules, guys.
I personally prefer Ezio(and was much better at playing the character) but I think Altair would win.
If it was a straight up fight then I would say Ezio takes it without much trouble. I would also say that if he had access to the majority of his equipment (even excluding the gun), Ezio would win. With the the equipment they have, though, I'm leaning slightly towards Altair.

IMO, Ezio has shown to be more disciplined with a higher variety of weapons. And both are masters with the hidden blades but Ezio got two.
I honestly can't say since I haven't gotten far in AC1 before I got bored but AC2 is still spinning in my PS3 I love it so much more. Atleast the way I'm playing I use mostly a sword so for you to say the weapons I gave him kind of puts him at a disadvantage definitely peaks my curiousity.
" @thedeman87: Well, Altair was trained pretty much from birth, and had mastered all of the techinques that Ezio spent the game learning. He was regarded by everyone in his own time as the greatest assassin, and was still revered in Ezio's time for his skill and legacy. "That's a very good argument. lol.
Altair without a doubt wins this. He's a Master Assassin. He literally wrote the book on the art of killing-- the same book that Ezio learned his craft by the way. His best weapons and armor come directly from Altair who created it himself. Altair destroyed his targets ruthlessly, mechanically and never came close to losing control of any situation he found himself in. Even when he found himself in a trap he handily reached his target, had her at his mercy and let her go. Ezio needed several Assassin to protect the apple and even let Rodrigo get away even when he wanted him dead. From the recent DLC Ezio was also punked by one of the brothers in Forli. He was stabbed and left for dead.
Ezio needed decades to finish his work. Altair, by the same time, was already a master assassin refining killing techniques and invented what Ezio would use hundreds of years later. He needed a few months to kill everyone.
Also compare their final battles. Altair fought his way through two alerted armies. He then killed over a dozen Templars in a single fight including Robert de Sable. He also defeats his master who was wielding a Piece of Eden through sheer force of will. Ezio by comparison sneaks into the Sistine chapel and stabs Rodrigo Borgia. Even before they fight, Ezio gets what could have be a lethal blow in. He also has at his disposal the considerable power of the Apple and can make copies of himself. Ezio in full combat gear, fully expecting battle, wielding an epic artifact, loses to a guy in priestly garb that already had a significant knife wound. Once Ezio lost his PoE, he lost handily.
Let me point this out so it's clear. All of Ezio's weapons and techniques are all derived from Altair. Altair created Ezio's best armor and weapon. He wrote the book that Ezio learned all his advanced killing techniques. Even Ezio's other improved items are from Altair's codex pages. The double hidden blade, the reinfoced killing blade that can block weapons, poisoned blade, gun and smoke bombs are were all invented by Altair.
If anything Altair would have the advantage since he created all of them.
Ezio gets in to Germany, first thing he does is throw away the sword and dagger
Altair: wtf man, u want to fight me empty handed?
attacks with sword
Ezio disarms him, sheaths the sword
Altair: how...how the fuck did u do tat?
attacks with dagger
Ezio disarms him, sheaths the dagger
Altair switches to hidden blade: okay, brat, lets see how u can steal this blade
Ezio jumps out of Altair's range with quick step, then throws sand at him
Altair: ah, my eyes, my eyes!
Ezio switchs to hidden blade and assassinates Altair...........
in a chase:
Altair: damn, i'll never make that jump
Ezio: bye-bye
Uses the time gap to throw knives at Altair
none of the above techniques (unique to ACII) Ezio used are known to be connected to Altair in any way
OR
Ezio runs to a river and jumps in
Altair: wait, i remember there was this bug in the animus....
Ezio ledge assassinates Altair
Look, i like them both, why do we have to make them fight?
And how would they meet?
And why would they fight?
We made them fight for our own amusement.
We are evil.
We don't deserve to live.
I've always liked Ezio more. He seemed to have far more personality. As for who wins, I'll sit on the fence for now.
Well, here's an easy way for you. Would old man Ezio beat Altair?
@WildValentine: I wasn't going to really spoil anything.
And to answer your question I was going to answer it the same way I planned on. Yes. Old Man Ezio was still able to hang with more advanced tech assassins despite being near 50 and them being half his age. Old Man Ezio gets bombs and a special hidden blade that becomes standard for that era. Altair I believe didn't get the double blades til he was much older and he didn't get a gun til he was practically an old man, much older than Ezio.
Ezio is still able to move like this. It's just the opening cinematic
Leaning towards Altair. He was trained since birth where as Ezio was about 20 when he became an assassin so Altair has A LOT more experience. Altair became the grand master at something like 29 where as Ezio was a lot older. When you play Ezio you do not desynchronize if you miss killing a target where as if your Altair you do, thus the Animus is inferring Altair never missed a kill so i'm guessing he's probably superior.
@Strider92: You put them both in their prime Ezio beats him. Game mechanics about missing a kill has nothing to do with it. Putting base Ezio against base Altair I would agree, but prime or even old man Ezio showed he is a skilled fighter not too far off from Altair if at all and he has a huge armament advantage vs. Altair's basic equipment of knives, hidden blade.
@god_spawn: Op states they both have Knives, Sword and Hidden blades, weapons Altair grew up using. I think he can win this.
@thedeman87: People think that because Altair designed most of Ezio's weapons he wins. Fact is Altair's only practical experience with one of his designs was the hidden gun when he killed Abbas. He only used it once while Ezio has been using it for years. Altair wasn't trained from birth he started training at 9 or 10 and reached his prime by 26. Ezio started training at 17 until he was in his late 40's resulting in Ezio being trained more AND being a better fighter. He is also better at free running/parkour. If Ezio has all of his equipment he easily beats Altair. A sword and hidden blade ? Maybe Altair but I still put money on Ezio.
