Alpha Lanterns & Kyle Rayner Vs Thanos

The Alpha Lanterns and Kyle Rayner are tasked with capturing Thanos and bringing him before the guardians, if they are not able to contain him they must kill him.

Thanos has no prep, no power boost items, and doesnt know anything is coming for him.

If its a stomp for Thanos, the Lanterns have Mogo on standby.

Can the Lantern team pull it off?

I honestly don't think they could do it. The way Thanos is written, he'd probably seize control of Mogo in no time and use the rings to enslave a planet or twelve after that. Ultimately he would loose out of pride or boredom.

Well, this depends alot IMO on which version of Thanos the lanterns are dealing with, and there are quite a few.

Also IMO, the alpha lanterns are a joke. They're relatively featless and shortly used.

Now many a version a Kyle by himself could give Thanos a run for the money.

@RingSlinger: Well, current Thanos would be a bad choice since he's just managed to make himself an overly powerful cosmic deity again. Blame it on cosmic cubes being so easy to get your hands on when you're a Mad Titan.

I'm saying the Alpha Lanterns really have nothing on regular lanterns. Writers "said" they were more powerful, but I never saw anything convincing.

Now (and just warning you) there are scans of Thanos taking on Galactus and there are few people here who are going to say ANY GL (Kyle, Hal, John or otherwise) could take Thanos on in a straight fight.

HOWEVER, Kyle has gone through multiple forms. He's single handedly taken on Nero who was an extremely large badass/threat. When he became GL it was heavily suggested that his limits weren't the same as the limits of the GLC.

You asked me what I think. What I think is Kyle may have a chance against Thanos all by himself. The Alpha Lanterns are nothing. They won't matter one way or another.

@Onemoreposter: I agree with most of what you say, but according to me, any GL has a fatal weakness when facing Thanos: their main weapon is will controlled and fuelled, and Thanos's will is, well... Thanos's will.

Thanos wins. Nothing this team does will put Thanos down. Alpha Lanterns are a joke. Never been impressed by anything they've done not to mention they hardly have feats.

Thanos always finds his trinkets and trash, so I assume he'll win.

He goes down pretty hard then, IMO.

Also the Alpha Lanterns put a pretty damn good beating on a number of GLs before getting shut down this week. That's gotta count for something.

Thanos. The team would give him problems but ultimately Thanos wins.

@spiderbuck: Thats what I was thinking, if they can put the beatdown on multiple lanterns, they are atleast as powerful as a normal one...

@Supermanwithatan01: Kyle has always been a special Lantern considering when he first got his ring he was the only active Lantern in the entire universe so his ring had fewer limits and was more powerful overall. Im guessing that he is able to have all the rings due to the fact that his ring operates differently at times than the standard GL ring. As to exactly why its happening, that hasnt been revealed in GL: New Guardians yet.

Have the Alpha Lanterns ever done anything to non-Lanterns? Their primary threat is the ability to absorb the Lantern's energy due to the Power Battery in their chests. I don't think they can do much to Thanos.

White Lantern, or Ion, Kyle would wtf pwn Thanos. Regular Green Lantern Kyle is a beast but idk if he could take The Mad Titan. Alpha Lanterns aren't impressive.

Still Thanos. The Lanterns will feel Thanos strong pimp hand.
