I was meaning the whole consuming deal. I know he's not a parasitic organism, but you want to keep him from latching on to you. Same containment measures might work.
How do you think Reed would destroy Mercer?

Mercer eviscerates Luke with his claws then absorbs him, Reed would be to busy panicking and crying to avoid Mercer's arm whip,l and as Spidey tries to swing at Mercer, he just turns his shield thing on and Spider get's knocked back so Mercer uses his new found strength and stretchiness too drag Pete in, beat his to a pulp and then he absorbs him too.

Really? Parasitic tendril down the throat/through the eyes/in the ears and he'd consume him in an instant, Spiderman cannot dodge his tentacle explosions which would literally tear his body into pieces. Mr Fantastic is the only one who could do anything, brawn doesn't beat somebody like Mercer, and he has more of it than Luke and Spiderman and has AoE attacks that can rival anyone in Marvel. You either survive his attack or die, there is no avoiding it.

Mercer takes this 9/10, with Mr Fantastic neutralizing him 1/10.

Oh, and Alex Mercer is dead, he died at the beginning of Prototype 1, Mercer is the embodiment of the virus itself who thinks it is Mercer because it bonded with his corpse and absorbed everything about him. If Fantastic can find some kind of antibody to the Mercer virus it would kill him.

With prep, Mercer gets stomped, without prep, Mercer stomps Reed and Spidey, Luke Cage may be a little more difficult, but would still fall.
