This answer is opinionated so....

I'm going with Akira because it's my opinion. Come at me if you have a problem.

I like Dragon Ball more than anything ever created by DC (or Marvel) comics, so Toriyama for me.

Injustice and Superman Earth One comics are written extremely well and probably my favorite literature ever written so I a going with DC Comics.

Dragonball manga was pretty mediocre, like any Shonen Manga.

Comics are pretty inconsistent due to hundreds of writers and just rewritten stories over and over again with reboots. If like reading the same stories over and over then comics.

Some comics are great and all but again hundreds of writers still don't have the success of toriyama

dragonball was the most sold manga of all time until one piece crossed it and one piece has double the amount of chapters and is still going

dragonball is the best martial arts shonen manga of all time and its recognized as inspiration for all shonen that followed including naruto, one piece, toriko, bleach etc.

Goku is the most well known manga character on the planet

DC and marvel while share the comic space while dragon ball dominates the manga space

And Batman and Supes are more well known than him. There are at least five songs I can name that reference either one of these two characters. Across genre's I can name one song that talks about Goku that is not a DBZ theme song.

Let's be honest. Toriyama is not a good storyteller. He never has been. There's nothing in DBZ that you'd call deep or thought provoking.

This isn't a fair scenario. You basically have one piece (no pun intended...or was it? ;-) ) of work against a collective of work, which is still ongoing and forever changing. Plus this is just a "battle" of opinion rather than fact. It's like Pepsi vs Coke. Who cares which one you prefer just quench your thirst and shut the hell up about it. The only real definitive answers are Dr. Pepper sucks and for some odd reason Vegeta doesn't, never has and never will have any edges. I mean what's the deal with that? You're a prince, but you have no edges? Dude is walking around looking like a cantaloupe. Smh...

DBZ easily DC is boring as hell in comparison.

I mean is really base on opinion, and DBZ had more of a affect on me than any comic ever did, so I got to go with Akira. Although my fault is that the series should had ended at the cell saga, instead of being milk and continued. That is one problem I have with DC and Marvel, which is continuation of the same character and multiple story that can be either be good or very bad, is so inconsistent. Granted they are some awesome comics, and I love their art work, but again DBZ had more of a impact on me.

@evil_incarnate: Not really just sharing my honest opinion I've never been a huge fan of dc besides the cartoons there universe just doesn't interest me I guess it's cause I grew up watching kung fu movies so DBZ just clicked for me.
