Hmmm...after careful contemplation, I decided to pick the Akatsuki as the winner of this fight.

I think Obito can beat a non-edo Itachi. His Stamina sucks and his jutsus/genjutsu wont work on Obito.

Itachi can't beat Obito.

1 - He won't land a hit as he doesn't have Kamui or the speed required

2 - His stamina won't hold out. Obito will troll him.

3 - Totsuka, Amaterasu, Yata mirror & Yasaka won't do him any good. His "perfect" defense will get bi-passed by Obito.

Obito doesn't stomp but he forces Itachi to work for it till he can't fight anymore.

lol he wasn't afraid of Itachi in the slightest. He didn't attack Konoha because Itachi had valuable info on Akatsuki and the fact that Obito was fully aware of both Itachi's illness and of Itachi's plan to die by Sasuke.

But how can you even compare the Akatsuki's feats to the Akatsuki's feats when the Akatsuki has better overall showings than the Akatsuki?? Additionally, the Akatsuki have jobbed way more than the Akatsuki have against the same opponents, which makes the Akatsuki's feats look far superior in comparison. Add in the fact that the Akatsuki have the hax advantage over the Akatsuki and this is a stomp in the Akatsuki's favor, plain and simple.

.......................I honestly don't possibly see how you can think Obito was scared of Itachi. He was only an obstacle in a superficial sense, they had a deal. He didn't kill Itachi because he wanted to milk him for what he's worth for his plan's benefit which is why he let him in the organization despite knowing he was never on his side. He was going to get rid of him one way or the other but later realized he was ill and was going to die anyway and knew his plan about Itachi to die by Sasuke. On top of all this, he used Itachi's death and his own plan to benefit him even further by manipulating Sasuke. Seriously........if he was scared, why did he let him join his organization? Why did he casually chat with him with his arms cross not even caring? Why not just have the Akatsuki kill him? The only one with baseless theories is you.

obito didn't knew before itachi joined obviously.. he thought he could manipulate itachi and would use his abilities to his advantage..... he chatted with itachi carefreely for the same reason itachi chatted with obito carefreely.. they both knew they wouldn't attack each other.... how would obito convince the akatsuki about itachi?... that was the only reason which was stopping itachi from killing obito.. that other members of akatsuki would know about him... he also wanted to know more about akatsuki's plans...

obito made itachi's death to his advantage is of no matter.. as much you want to construct your theory... the only person who was standing between obito attacking konoha was itachi.... and it was clear from the statement that obito feared itachi 1 on 1.

What do you mean he "didn't knew Itachi joined"??.....He was the one who invited him in. How did he know Itachi wouldn't kill him?? Itachi was the one who confronted him. Also, if he was scared, wouldn't he be shown to be just that when he's in his presence?.....And what does Obito have to "convince" the Akatsuki of??? He's the leader, he can tell them to do anything he wants or at least through Pain:

Plus, he's already faced/been in the presence of people far more powerful than Itachi, like Kabuto. And like Kabuto, he didn't kill him for the EXACT same reason, because he had dirt on him but as soon as he could afford to, he threatened to kill Kabuto:

Obito also stated that Sasuke's power will surpass Itachi's..........so why would he not only let Sauske live but make him more powerful KNOWING he'd become stronger if he was really afraid of Itachi? Not to mention he already threatened to kill Sasuke if he doesn't obey which means he couldn't care less.

Mostly agree with everyone else except for Deidara vs Sasori. Regardless of feats, Deidara admitted Sasori was stronger than him on panel. His stats are higher in the Databooks too. Feats don't mean as much in-series compared to character statements where someone admits inferiority.
