Hmmm...that's a good question. lol If I gave each all of their equipment then Afro would automatically win since the #1 is pretty much a God...and Ryu can't challenge him. I say this would be Afro with his Dad's sword and Ryu with his weapons and ninpo at the very beginning of NG2.

It's near impossible to tell who's faster...but then again Afro moves so fast that he appears to...disappear. And cutscenes Ryu seems to actually move slower than gameplay Ryu so there's no help there. I guess Afro does win.

I guess it's hard to tell because Ryu is three-dimensional, while Afro isn't. Kinda makes me wish Ryu had his own anime and manga, then they would really show off his speed like a lot of other characters do.

Yes because games can get good anime. Just look at the old Street Fighter movie and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children (I don't care what any of the action haters say, AC ROCKED!)

AC was good for the action, everything else was pretty "meh" :P
For the record, I kinda like the DMC anime (I only watched the first episode though....).

The story was..bleh but I didn't play Final Fantasy 7 yet (yes, I suck) so that didn't bother. I also plan on getting Advent Children Complete.
He wins because the things he fights are generally more powerful. I only watched a few Afro fights on youtube though so I'm willing to admit I could be wrong.
Uhm okay. Time to play devil's advocate here. Hayabusa has been seen to move fast enough to create after images, and has shown skill in hand to hand as well as weapon combat. And there was a few times where he disappeared in a cloud of dust.
I'd back Ryu. The monsters he faces off against take over advanced countries easily.
That is a very valid point. Ryu's feats by far top Afro.I love Afro. If it were a fight on who is cooler, Afro would win hands down. But I haven't seen Afro jump and glide out of planes, do the kind of acrobatic feats that Ryu can do. Afro is an extremely well skilled fighter, and the headband itself doesn't give you any real power from what I can see, it just means your strongest fighter in the world.
Ryu has a sword made from a freakin' dragon fang and has the blood of mystic dragons or gods whatever in his vein giving him his superhuman abilities. Afro has a sword of metal, and peak human conditioning, and his skill. Afro cut an rpg in half...Ryu dodges things like that, and even faster. It would be a cool fight, with Afro holding his won for a while, but I see Ryu taking it.
