In this earthbending battle, Aang, Korra, and Bolin will take on Kuvira, Lin, and Ghazan, but who will win?

For this battle, Aang and Korra are limited to earthbending only. Aang has his agility as though he had airbending.

Standard gear for all. Korra has cables and 3 meteors for metalbending

Fight takes place in Ba Sing Se, by the Earth Queen's palace. 2 airships have crashed nearby, providing metal. Time is noon. Starting distance is 25 feet.

Aang > Lin in Earthbending but not by much

Korra healthy > Kuvira

Bolin >= Ghazan

The team 1 has the majority in R1

R2 is difficult I am leaning towards team 2 because only one metalbender isn't gonna be enough

Imo Kuvira's metal bending > Korra's earth bending. Bolin hasn't been shown to be as proficient in lava bending as Ghazan. So even if Aang beat Lin, he'll end up in 1V2.

Bloodlusted Korra should be able to beat Kuvira since she's going all out from the start. As long as she can dodge those metal rings. Round 2, it's Ghazan that will end up in 1V2.

@deus: @killerwasp: @johnfrank120: any reasons? @uchiha454: Healthy Korra can certainly rival Kuvira, but while she's clearly talented Kuvira's greater experience with metalbending could come into play. @hatemalingsia: remember Korra's got metalbending too round 1. Bolin hasn't shown Ghazan's level of raw power, but he has arguably shown better pure earthbending as well as speed and accuracy.

I agree but in Korra's second fight with Kuvira even though using multiple elements at least two times out of the many times she tagged her was with metalbending also imo Korra's durability at least in Book 4 seemed a bit higher than Kuvira's

Team 2 wins round one they are more powerful under these stipulations, but round two team1 takes a slight advantage Aang not holding backs earth bending is pretty insane.

Ah, ok that's helpful. True, he has way more showings and it's arguable with pure earth bending. What do you mean by accuracy?

@jonez120: Bolin improved massively between Season 3 and 4. Kuvira might be better than Korra, but I don't think the gap's that large. Aang does have the disadvantage of being the only one without a subelement round 2. @killerwasp: Hahahahaha :)

@arcus: But Aang has incredible raw power in earthbending. Pair it with a seismic sense, and he is still a huge threat in R2.

Ghazan is still superior to bolin, and in round 1 morals make this even more one sided.

Kuvira is superior to this limited korra.

Her metalbending is superior to anyone elses in the whole series (toph is superior by hype, but not by feats) and her speed in earthbending, a usually slower discipline, is incredible.

Aang has raw power over lin, but in the first roubd he'll be outskilled and limited by his morals, while in round 2 he'll be out-metald(?)

Bolin arguably has speed, accuracy, and pure earthbending over Ghazan, though Ghazan does seem to have raw power on Bolin.

It's worth mentioning that, in their second fight, it was Korra who landed the first hit, with metalbending (I'd post the gif-I think it's a cool waterbending-ish move, but I'm on my phone)

Even with morals on Aang's an extremely skilled earthbender, not to mention his agility

Her landing the first hit still means next to nothing, she won a close-ish fight with other elements, it's obvious she would loose a purely earth-metal one.

Bolin woukd have speed and agility...if they had not confronted directly more than once and never showed to have those advantages.

When they fought Bolin either didn't have lavabending or was very inexperienced with if, leading to him being overwhelmed. His speed and agility played a large role in helping him survive. S4 Bolin's far more skilled with lava. His pro bending skills help him with speed and agility, but by S4 he's not limited to pro bending styles either

His speed/agility did not get better in S4, and ghazan had no problems with them in their encounters.

About aang i'm on mobile too, i'll argument better once i'm on my computer

And even then, i do see aang winning that encounter more than his teammates winning theirs, but he'd lose the following 2vs1(hell he would lose any 1vs1 against ghazan or kuvira)

Never said korra would get stomped.

This is not in any way a mismatch, it simply is not very close.

For Round 1 I'm quickly siding with Team 1. True my favourite bender Ghazan is a deadly threat but Bolin now has the lava bending skill to hold him off for much longer. A healthy Korra was shown as a match for Kuvira in physicals and even with just Earthbending and metal bending, Korra has enough raw power and technical skill in Earthbending at least to hold her own against Kuvira. The key is Lin as she's much more of a weak link without metal bending IMO. Going up against Aang with his airbending agility feats would prove too much for Lin and she'd fall first in this battle.

In regards to Round 2, that's much closer but I'd side with Team 2 barely. Ghazan would have much less problems cutting loose with his full lavabending and even by Book 4, Ghazan>Bolin in lavabending still. Kuvira's neutral jing could match Korra long enough for the tide to turn in Team 2's favour and with metal bending, Lin is a much more versatile threat to Aang or whoever she's fighting. Here though I think Ghazan is the MVP due to his range and deadliness of his bending style.

@lvenger: fair points. Worth mentioning that Ghazan's the least limited by morals (except maybe Kuvira), so there's probably not going to be a huge difference for him

in the two rounds compared to team 1 and Lin

@arcus: Fair points, even in character Ghazan is likely to go all out more than anyone else here would in battle but I don't think he could take Bolin before Lin gets defeated by someone on Team 1. Round 2 is a different story though.

I don't even see it as that close honestly.

Team 2 stomps. Lin and Kuvira alone could take this low dif.

Kuvira and Ghazan beat everyone on Team 1, and Earth only Lin is at least a good match for everyone, especially in Character.

In R2, she should beats anyone as well.

This round 2. Round 1 Lin is outmatched, but Ghazan and Kuvira are good enough to pull out a win.
