In this battle, Aang and Korra will take on some of their elemental trainers: Katara, Toph, Zuko, and Tenzin. Can they defeat their teachers?

Fight takes place in a field with scattered trees and a river running through it. It's been snowing so there's a few inches (this won't affect anyone negatively, just providing some more water for bending). Time is late afternoon.

Tenzin and Aang have their glider staffs.

Korra is perfectly healthy

No Avatar State

Fighters are in character but serious. They will be fighting each other like any other enemy EDIT: Aang is not holding back

Starting distance is 25 feet. Victory by ko

Who will win?

A tough fight imo, zuko gives aang problems, toph would give aang problems, tenzin will also give korra problems. I go with the teachers, while the teachers knows atleast few of the moves of their students the students know none of theirs' which is a factor, aang's airbending can be nullified by tenzin and zuko, while katar and toph can take on korra.

@gizmorino:

Aang has also one-shotted Zuko before

The students would know some of the teacher's moves since they taught them to them

Toph hasn't always dealt well with airbending

@hatemalingsia: any reasons?

All of Aang's teachers are more proficient with their respective elements (except Zuko maybe, I don't remember he has ever sparred with Aang after the dragon dance thing). So they would beat Aang. Tenzin would stall Korra. So in any case Korra gets overwhelmed.

Yeah, but Aang's not sparring with them with just their respective element, he has all 4, including air

There's no bloodbending (no full moon) or lightning (Zuko never learned lightning)

You think Tenzin will be able to hold Korra long enough for the other three to pin Aang down?

If it goes longer imo prime Korra > Tensin. But for this fight he should be able to stall long enough.

For the most part they can individually give Aang and Korra decent fights.

Teachers....Aside from numbers, their each generally more powerful in their elements individually then the avatars. In fact i think Tenzin would give Aang a run for his money for a little bit while the Gaang went after Korra.

With some difficulty. Korra would have a harder time with him and Toph.

This is in character, so I don't see why Aang won't hold back.

trainers should win this. Old toph managed to school korra with no effort (granted she was still messed up, but i doubt that a healthy korra would beat her either). Plus tenzin airbending>korra airbending if toph needs any help.

Zuko's firebending is also stronger than aangs, so he can put aang on the defensive really quickly. katara can also harrass aang until korra goes down. then against the other 4 trainers, he will lose

@knightofzero: a fight between a Toph with decades of experience and a recovering, almost useless Korra can hardly be used to determine how a fight between a healthy Korra and 12 year old Toph would go. Yeah Zuko's firebending is stronger than Aang's, but it's not like Aang's limited to firebending @highaccuser: I know, but I could change it so Aang wasn't holding back, that's why I asked if you thought it would be closer

@jmarshmallow: I'm considering giving Aang no morals, or at least looser ones. Think that makes it closer?

Morals off tilts it in Aang and Korra's favor.

@arcus Korra was still completly outmatched and toph took her down with one shot. I still think that toph could take her down, even in her prime. Especially with ten in there.

And as for aang v zuko, you can see from the fight in the catacomb was that zuko's firebending put aang in the defensive really quickly

@knightofzero: yeah, useless Korra was outmatched by old Toph, neither of whom are in this fight

Aang tends to be more defensive just because of his style of fighting, avoid and evade, when he gets serious he puts Zuko down

@arcus still, the speed at which toph took her down shows how much toph outclasses her. How would regular Korra have been any different? Plus the move old toph used is something that young toph could do in her sleep.

I never said zuko alone could take down aang . He puts him on the defensive while toph and ten in deal with Korra and they come I. To wib

@knightofzero: is the difference not obvious? Healthy Korra is faster, stronger, more coordinated, essentially better in every way. Why do you think injured Korra was losing to fodder?

What happens if Aang gets serious and stops playing defensive?

@arcus seeing how Korra lost to fodder constantly in season 1...

And if aang goes on the attack, he still has to take down 2 master benders before 2 more join in and dominate him

@knightofzero: the only fodder she lost to were chi blockers or mecha tanks trained/designed to take out benders. Compare her fights with the three firebenders

He's taken down Zuko with relative ease before

Right, and toph is defiantly below fodder chi blocker and mechs tanks

But against post dragon zuko and katara?

@knightofzero: Korra was beating chi blockers and mecha tanks later in the season. They're a different kind of dangerous than Toph

Oh I'm not saying it'd be easy, but if Aang is fighting seriously I don't think it'd be impossible either

More.

The trainers are already more skilled individually in their bending then Aang is, with the exception of maybe Tenzin and Zuko.

And same with Korra, but only with Zuko.

So while the Avatar's versatility will allow them to close that gap, Aang wouldn't use that versatility as well as he would morals off. He'd try to match them in their own elements. And I doubt that would work out well for him.

While Korra wouldn't hold back quite as much, her alone wouldn't be enough to take them all down.

@arcus: In dead seriousness, Aang could solo, he's bested Zuko multiple times, even oneshotted him, he's practically untouchable to Toph, and he can take Katara any day of the week, and Tenzin has yet to be as impressive as Aang in airbending skill.

@arcus: It would depend on how Tenzin acted, if it was jobber Tenzin, Aang could take them all at once, but I think on average Tenzin could probably give the team the win, until Korra gets involved...

Aang can solo the Gaang though (unless Momo gets involved :p)
