Welcome one and all! Today we find our heroes on a quest through the dreaded lands of Morytania!

The adventurers!~:

(Jarlaxe D'aethe, Commander Shephard, Doc Ock, Diego, Akame, Lire)

and Talion~

Their starting point is Paterdomus, the Saradomist church that lies on the border of Misthalin and Morytania.

Their goal? To explore in search of valuables and to make themselves legends through their deeds! To battle off the hordes of creatures and put their strength to the test!

Though there are plenty of side things they can go through, of which will grant various rewards, these are the main focuses that need to be done during the entire adventure to 'complete' their campaign and achieve victory:

  • Conquer the Slayer Tower.
  • Clear the town of Canifis of it's inhabitants.
  • Survive through the swamps of Mort Myre.
  • Strike a deal with Sliske and release the Barrows Brothers from his control.
  • Defeat Araxxi and the hordes of giant spiders that follow.
  • Infiltrate Meiyerditch and free the blood-stock from the Vyres.
  • Leave through the port at Burgh De Rott.

A map of Morytania's lay-out for those wondering where they should start or go to(Please note that while the places on the map seem close, the reality is far from it. This is shown in the novels, so do not be fooled by the map!):

*You start there in the upper left corner where it says temple, that is Paterdomus*

I will be using feats from other sources of the creatures if there aren't enough to go by for RS standards(for example, the majority of feats for Werewolves in the novels were Jerrod and Gar'rth who are main characters. So for average werewolves I would take fodder werewolves from another source) as well as importing other creatures from other novels(such as the Raz'zac from the Inheritance Cycle).

I will begin once everyone decides where they want to head to first. *Note that there will be attacks or events on the way to said locations*.

First Priority: Collecting Informations and Formulating a Strategy

Commander Shepard and Doc Ock will first take this opportunity to scan the immediate area, identifying if anything is currently lurking in the shadows watching us or readying an attack against us. Once we've decided the area is clear (should only take a minute), we'll set Lire up in a scouting position to keep the area clear. Deigo will assist her in scouting, as well as Talion in wraith form.

At this point, Doc will also release some Spider Bots into the Slayer Tower to scout, gather information, get the layout of the area, and see what kind of baddies and what quantities we are expecting to see. These things should be relatively inconspicuous, and Jarlaxle can turn them black to make them look like a tiny spider (completely unnoticed).

Simultaneously, Deigo will send a tiny dinosaur to go scout the temple to do almost exactly the same thing as the Spider Bots. At the same time, Jarlaxle will release a single bat into the air to get a birds-eye view of our landscape, and what enemies and creatures are lurking where on the map. The bat is just a bat, but when it returns to Jarlaxle can gather all the information it gathered.

Once the Spider Bot has finished scouting the tower, it will move in a clockwise pattern across the map and scout each relevant area, doing a full loop on the area over and over again to keep information current and updated.

Shepard will be in charge of deciding who will go where, and what our priority targets and objective will be.

Second Priority: Relaying information and Executing orders.

When our scouts return, they will relay information amongst each other, and definitely execute their plan.

The_Legendary_SuperSaiyan_Hulk

We will need the following information:

  • What enemies were observed, preferably with pictures or descriptions.
  • Where we saw the enemies or creatures.
  • Approximate quantities
  • In depth landscape details.
  • Layouts of the Tower and Temple

Other Notes:

  • The dinosaur is actually fast enough to outrun a speeding horse, and should be at least someone inconspicuous if it avoids high-population areas (as in, avoids going to the center of the woods).
  • The bat is basically just a bat, but as such can actually fly pretty fast and cover a large area.
  • The information from scouting by the Spider Bots, unlike the dino/bat, will be relayed instantaneously as it scouts.
  • This whole post should take our team 15 minutes, at best. Just a heads up.

@floopay: 15 minutes? You realize this stuff would take days to journey, right? While it may seem close in-game, in the novels stuff is fairly far apart.(For example of the distance relation, Edgeville and the Monastery are a days journey in the novel despite being relatively close in-game.)

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: See, there is no indication anywhere as to how many kilometers or miles everything is apart from one another. In that case, they'll scout the temple and the surrounding area. As much as can be scouted in 10-15 minutes.

A bat, a horse speed dinosaur, and whatever should be able to cover a lot.

Spider Bot should still be able to scout if @spinnercomix is okay with it. If he has no other summons, the spider bot can stay several days travel ahead of us (as it doesn't need to rest) and relay the info instantly.

Before the path of the Slayer Tower:

Wandering undead, though they are aimless and shouldn't pose a problem unless provoked.

A group of the Kinshra(Black Knights devoted to the chaos god Zamorak) working their way towards the Slayer Tower. There are roughly 50 of the Kinshra themselves, followed by 10 Chaos Dwarf escorts(each armored with a hand-cannon), and a Warborn Behemoth following in the back.

Where are they now? Following the main path up to the Tower.

Geography: Solid ground, not really marshy. There are trees and other vegetation, but not that much.

That has history of the temple and lay out, but I'll copy and paste what it has to say about the layout of the temple itself:

The TempleEdit

The Paterdomus is three stories tall. The first two floors are populated by many attackable Monks of Zamorak atLEVEL 17, 22, and 30. Despite the temple being occupied and partly damaged by Zamorakians, with many ofTHE IMAGES of Saradomin hidden or removed, the prayeraltar on the ground floor can still be used. The ground floor also has an intact church organ.

Ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor.

Two staircasesCONNECT the ground floor to the first floor. This floor has several searchable bookcases.

A ladder connects the first floor to second. This floor has a prison cell, a Morytania coffin, and a blackboard. The floor features in some quests. In Priest in Peril, Drezel must be freed from the cell. The vampire is present only in the quest. The floor is also visited during the Legacy of Seergaze quest.

Paterdomus-Morytania shortcut.

Outside the temple is a small graveyard and, north of the Paterdomus temple, the trapdoor leading to the mausoleum. This is one of only two ways toENTER Morytania by foot. By traversing the entire mausoleum and passing through the holy barrier on the other side, the player arrives on the bridge that crosses the River Salve into Mortyania.

The other foot route is immediately south-east of the Paterdomus temple and is quicker than the mausoleum route. This is a two-wayLEVEL 65agilityshortcut. Here you squeeze through the cliff railing, climb down the cliff, followed by squeezing through the bridge railing. Be aware that this is a multi-part shortcut: you must squeeze through both railings using level 65 agility. It is so far unconfirmed whether you can get stuck on the route if you used an agility boost to get to level 65 but the boost wore off before you got to the second railing. (If this happens, then you can escape by using theHome teleport spell)

MausoleumEdit

The mausoleum dungeon.

The temple's graveyard.

This dungeon is only accessible after you have reached a certain point in thePriest in Peril quest. It has the following features:

  1. Ladder to the trapdoor at the surface.
  2. Entrance chamber with a level 30Temple Guardian beast. The player must slay the beast during the Priest in Peril quest. After the quest, the beast is not aggressive and cannot be fought.
  3. Gate leading deeper into the mausoleum.
  4. The main chamber of the mausoleum. The centre of the mausoleum has the graves of the Seven Priestly Warriors, as well as a well that supplies holy water from the River Salve. It cannot be used as a water source but instead is necessary for blessing the Rod of Ivandis.
  5. The staircase to the Columbarium. This staircase can be used once the player has partially completed the Legacy of Seergaze quest.
  6. The gate to Drezel's chamber.
  7. Drezel's chamber. Once Drezel is released from the cell in the Paterdomus, he inhabits this chamber to guard against an incursion from Morytania. During and after the In Aid of the Myrequequest, a trapdoor becomes accessible in this chamber, with a ladder leading down to a secret library . Inside are several books that outline the history of Morytania.
  8. The holy barrier holding back Morytanian invaders fromENTERING the mausoleum. Players can pass through this barrier to enter Morytania.

The ColumbariumEdit

Main article: Columbarium

The Columbarium is shaped like a Saradomin symbol.

Beneath the mausoleum is the Columbarium, a unique place where dead bodies were burnt and placed in containers. Those containers were sealed into the walls of the Columbarium. The chamber is now used toFREE the tortured souls from Vyre corpses. It can be reached by descending the staircase at the north end of the mainROOM in the mausoleum, where the circle of monuments is (the room to the west of Drezel).

During and after the Legacy of Seergaze quest, the player discovers a way to kill the members of the dreaded Vyrewatch. The player can collect the resulting Vyre corpses andFREE their souls by cremating the corpses in the funeral pyres at the Columbarium. A Columbarium key appears for each soul that is freed. The keys unlock various coffins in the walls, which contain itemREWARDS. This functions in much the same way as the Shades of Mort'ton minigame.

The southern end of the Columbarium contains a lectern which keeps track of how many Vyre corpses the player has burned, up to a maximum of 500. For every 50 Vyre corpses that have been cremated, the power of the player's Ivandis flail and blisterwood weapons increases.

Players can beREWARDED with the Blood talisman at the Columbarium by burning Vyre corpses. They also receive a blood talisman at the end of the Legacy of Seergaze quest.

@floopay: @conner_wolfThe temple isn't hostile(It is a Saradomist temple after all), hence why it is the starting point. The wikia text is referring to a point during the quest Priest in Peril, the Zamorakian monks by this point are cleared out, sorry if that was misleading. Unless I say there are enemies there, unless they are hidden by some means, assume there are none at the given area.

  • Monsters of the area
  • A safe place to sleep
  • What's aggressive, what's not.
  • Environmental Dangers
  • Information on the Most Infamous of the Area (Araxxi and whomever else)
  • A blessing from their deity (Jaxle will donate 5 platinum)
  • Any events we may be interested in (gatherings, people fleeing areas, side missions, etc.)
  • Books with valuable information
  • Location of vegetation or other kinds of gardening areas
  • Spare Food
  • Names and locations of helpful NPC's
  • Maps of the land-to supplement our information
  • Healing Herbs

After that, we spend the night in the Temple, collecting as much information, supplies, and planning as possible.

With knowledge of the movements of the Knights and the Slayers Tower, we also begin to formulate a plan to take the tower, mainly formulated by Shepard and supplemented by Jaxle who points out other ideas and such.

Talion keeps watch through the night, at times using his Wraith Vision to see around the area for enemies since he does not require sleep. Shepard's Drone Sparky assists.

Everyone else simply goes about our previous list of questions or items we gather.

The spiderbots, bat, and dinosaur continue to scout the landscape for information.

The answers to your questions:

They know the following about the more prominent members of Morytania:

Werewolves:

  • Powerful and aggressive.
  • Is not weak to silver in general.

Vyres:

  • The ruling race of Morytania.
  • A force known as the Vyrewatch patrol the skies of Morytania, so it's best to stay away from open areas where you can be spotted more easily.
  • They are powerful enough to treat average humans like rag-dolls.
  • They have a precognitive ability that allows them to predict attacks. It's essentially using TP to read their actions.

Ghasts:

  • Spirits of those who died of starvation within the Mort Myre swamps.
  • They are aggressive and relentless.
  • If touched, your food will instantly turn to rot.
  • If you have no food they will drain life force.

Environmental dangers, not including creatures:

  • Surprisingly enough the land itself isn't trying to kill you. Though most of Morytania is covered by the swamp-lands known as Mort Myre.

Info on the more infamous:

Info on current events:

  • A large amount of the Kinshra have been making the journey towards the Slayer Tower these past few days. Quite odd...
  • There is tell of hooded figures in black traveling with the Vyrewatch by ground.

Spare food:

  • They give you a sack(roughly the size of a pillow case) filled with breads and cheeses, as well as a few whole chickens.

Info on people that could be of use:

  • Mazchna, a slayer master on the outskirts of Canifis. He could probably provide some useful information on the creatures of the land.

Herbs:

  • They gave you a few potions made with harralander. This will help to restore you if physically weakened by various sources.(The amount is roughly the size of a water bottle)

Information gathered by Spiderbot/Bat: Drawing closer to the Slayer Tower the number of Kinshra present increases, with small encampments littering the area.

After a full night's rest, follow the guys going to the castle with caution.

Use Dinos and spider bots to scout far ahead, and make sure we're keeping at least two people on shift during the sleeping hours to watch for ambushes. Talion scouts a bit further back from those two, using his Gondorian Ranger skills to stay totally out of sight, and using his Wraith skills to detect life forms hundreds of meters away, detect valuable objects they might be passing, anything of import, and using Wraith abilities to pick off anyone who might be tracking the group's movements. He will use a Caragor as his summon to move back and forth during scouting. Then as a partner we'll switch between Jarlaxle who can see in the ultraviolet spectrum, can detect magic, and has other enhanced senses during scouting, and Diego who can use his own enhanced sense of smell and his ability to transform both himself and his horse into a dinosaur to move around quickly.

We'll have Doc set up camp, he is not strained at all by the effort of setting up camp and Commander Shepard and Yang stay on guard in the camp. Lire, and whoever isn't scouting ahead and further around the camp that night will scout within a short distance of the camp to ensure we aren't walking into any sort of trap.

Then after they return from scouting, Talion will watch over the camp throughout the night with Shepard's Attack Drone, Sparky. Once again, he requires no sleep and can see incoming threats from hundreds of meters out.

We do this every night on our way to the tower, and we stop 12 hours out from the tower. At that point, we want to get off auto-pilot and take a different stance.

The road to the Tower is relatively straightforward, as much of the inhabitants dwell deeper with the country. You're essentially still near the border of Misthalin and Morytania. Not much danger nor any areas of interest as of yet, so you make it to your selected area pretty safely.

The dinosaur from the previous scouting is dead, so you will of course be sending a new one out. Are your scouts still heading on the Towers route? Make sure to specify what directions they are going.

Also, you might want to state what certain abilities are capable of doing as it might produce misleading information otherwise. For example, the Wraith ability. How does it work, what can it detect, are there things it hasn't seen(such as invisible objects/creatures). @eyedcyou

Aside from that, you're essentially spying on the surrounding camps of Kinshra. The outside of which are being patrolled by more chaos dwarfs as well as Zamorakian mages. In addition to this there are dwarvern multi-cannons running along the outsides of the occupied area, with there being one every 15 meters.

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: The cannons are mounted, obviously. But are they automated or do they have to be mounted or fired manually?

Also, Jarlaxle can detect magic, and see through the ultraviolet spectrum, so is there any magic, invisibles (that he can detect), or etc. in the nearby vicinity. Finally, Jarlaxle can detect telepathy if it is strong enough, or near enough to him, so that is something else that'd be nice to detect for.

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: I'm not sure why nobody's made the post yet, but I have this information so far.

In regards to the information you asked for.

  • The Wraith ability can see invisible targets
  • The Wraith ability is arcane in nature, specifically undead magic.
  • The Wraith is capable of seeing anything of import, it's like Eagle Vision from Assassin's Creed, if something is important, it's made clear, it reveals all. It points out everything from enemies, where they are, and how far they are, to items of interest that may be covered by dirt, or even something nearby he could use against his enemies.
  • The Wraith is also capable of pointing out anyone who could have information in the enemy ranks, and can target, retrieve information from, and then kill that enemy all within the span of five seconds, completely silently.
  • Yes, this is a new dinosaur
  • Yes, the dinosaur and spiderbot are going towards the tower to scout ahead, and they gather as much information as they can in any specific area, relaying it back before moving on.

Commander Shepard, Talion, and Jarlaxle all move ahead, they are going to get eyes around the tower, scout what the troops look like, and see what information we can gather on the area. Jarlaxle will also let his bat loose, and we get a spider bot going as well. These active scouts will report back any and all available information back to the group.

Commander Shepard can use an invisibility cloak that makes him totally invisible to anyone, Jarlaxle is capable of magic that can cloak his presence to others, and Talion is a Ranger with long-term experience of stealth in Mordor.

This group will stay about 30 minutes ahead of the regular group, and we'll need a spider bot in this group for certain. We'll slowly proceed the entire group to about 15 minutes away from the tower by foot, and then the scouts will do their full scan of the tower. Our goals are to:

  • Figure out what enemy groups are patrols and which are posted guards.
  • Figure out patrol patterns and when posted guards are scheduled to change.
  • The approximate layout of the tower
  • Anyone that looks important entering/leaving. And by that same logic, who is still in the tower, and who has left to the road, or to another location.
  • While they are scouting the tower, the spider bots are going to further investigate these cannons and get a good idea of how they operate. Doc Ock and Shepard will have to look at this most closely. Trying to figure out how they operate.

Overall, we'll spend about 1 hour scouting the tower, and everyone else will keep a lookout with the core group.

We're also going to need the following information.

  • How many cannons are there in total-or if they simply cover the entire foreseeable perimeter
  • How large are these cannons-are we talking real life cannons, or are we talking cannons the size of an artillery platform
