I'm confused because l read his mother Martha kane was lrish Catholic, and his dad thomas Wayne is descended from mad anthony wayne the lrish american military commander , his first name is bassed off of Robert the Bruce who was Scottish , but that's a first name not a surname, so he's mostly lrish ?
What ethnicity Is batman?
@nybreezy: Lol, that reminds me of him doing a batdunk. Imagine batman talking street.
White isnt a race or ethnic group.
Also i dont think he belongs to any.
He is Batman, he is above that jazz.
He seems to be mostly Irish, with some Scottish admixture.
Guess that means the paddies have legitimate reason to claim Batman as their own.
(though, wouldn't he have Black Irish ancestry then, what with the black hair?)
Batman's veins are clean of potato blood thank you very much
He must be related to William Wallace.
Nop, he is a Blind Blackkin Filipino LadyBoy Pansexual!!!
From Ive gathered from the Scottish Connection and this pedigree chart http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11111/111115721/3820854-3557299-a%2Bwayne%2Btree%2B%28close%29.gif
Batman seems to be English, Scottish, Irish and Dutch, with very small amounts of Native American.
By "English", you mean "British" I assume.
Here is a better view of that "pedigree chart" :
Is "Mad" Anthony Wayne still canon? That relation is based on a silver age comic.
I would say it isn't canon because Silver Age Batman, Post-Crisis, and New 52 Batman live on different Earths.
But if you read Batman's origins between Silver age, Golden age and Post-Crisis age, they are somewhat the same. So you can assume that ancestry is somewhat the same too.

It's a a time travel story in Worlds Finest, and these things usually don't fit hat well in the modern canon. And iirc it is not even 100% clear if and how they are related from that story.
Btw. Bruce and Dick at several relatives in Golden and Silver Age stories that were erased post crisis. Most popular example is probably Aunt Harriet.
@orangebat: Batman is "Black" Irish on his mother's side, while being English, Scottish, Dutch with like 5% Native American on his father's side.
Clearly Bruce resembles more of his mother's side since some incarnations (such as the Arkham games) Batman has "Black" Irish features: very pale skin, jet black hair and blue eyes. In other incarnations he resembles his father more.
@rhymfre: where does it confirm that he has Native American in him … every other information I have found has said that from his father’s side he has Scottish connection … there’s even comic about it - another example is mad Anthony who is Irish … there’s no confirmation that he has native in him
