What do you think would end up happening if Batman v Superman disapointed both critically and comercially? Would they just release the films that they have made and scrap their plans? Would they just go back to focusing on Batman or decide to do a Lego DCCU instead? What do you think they would do?
So what if BvS fails
They'd probably just shoulder on. If one movie is all it takes to destroy months, and possibly years of planning, then things were obviously worse than just the one movie failing. That's a critical point of failure at numerous levels.
With that said, I wouldn't worry too much about that. It's got Batman in it. You could make a film about Bruce Wayne's toilet training and it would still be a financial and critical success.
I just can't imagine this film being a commercial failure, even if it is a critical let down.
Even if somehow this movie failed commercially I think they would continue on with the rest of the slate. As mentioned I don't think they would throw away years of planning on just one movie, I think it would definitely hurt them and set them back but I think they would soldier on.
Won't fail commercially. Critically is not a problem if you getting billions or close to a billion dollars they don't care what reviewers say they getting their money.
It has Batman, thus it won't fail commercially.
It will have Batman getting punched by Superman, they already have 10 tickets sold.

Nothing major, it will make money no matter what but if it was viewed as a bad film i feel they would blame the supporting characters who they have given a role such as aquaman and wonder woman and that could possibly hinder solo films
It's got batman, the chances of it failing badly are like the chances of me shooting fire out of my ass. That said, if the movie does fail, I doubt it'll stop there, I mean, man of steel had a bit of a setback and that didn't stop them from moulding a universe. Also they've got Zak Snyder....do you really think that he would give up after one movie?
@matt2487: Thats what Im worried about.
Might as well entertain the idea of the Moon crashing into the Earth because BvS will not fail at the box office.
@darkdetective27: Nothing because it will still make money opening night, and the weeks after. even if it does suck, you wont know until you watch it. even if word gets out that it sucks you would have to announce it to everyone before they see it opening night, and even then some will still go see it anyway.

Seems more plausible than BvS failing.
So, yeah, I think we should talk about that.

It will have Batman getting punched by Superman, they already have 10 tickets sold.
It will also have Superman getting punched by Batman, they'll have millions tickets sold for that reason only.
Well there isn't a chance it will fail commercially. With all the hype and coming promotion leading up to the movie, it will be huge. Even if it isn't a good movie. I mean tbh I didn't like Jurassic world, and think the only reason why it is a commercially successful as it is, is because of all the hype about it.
I don't watch movies on the opening week.
just like How I don't buy games on release day.
Wait for trustworthy reviews and don't mindlessly spend your money like sheep.
If everyone follows these simple instructions hopefully movies in the future won't cast ben affleck as batman.... freaking blasphemy.
Commercially, it failing is highly doubtful to say the least. Critically, if they didn't learn from their mistakes from MoS it's definitely possibly.
@thekillerklok: Wooooow, dude!
You're like... So advanced and wise past your years! How'd you get so smart?
Shut up and let people spend their money as they like. Ironically, you're trying to turn them into "sheep" by directing them how to spend their money.

@thekillerklok: Whatever that means, lol.
Trailer had 5 mill within like 5 hours of being released and 27 mill by the end of the day. Trailer has been met with overwhelmingly positve reviews. Batman and Wonder Woman will be in it. Batman will be fighting Superman, something even non comic book fans want to see. Saying this movie can fail is completely ridiculous.
Doubt it, my parents who have never been interested in the MCU are actually pretty pumped for this. There very very iconic characters.
The movie won't fail. But it doesn't matter if its good or not, it won't get much profit as any of the Avengers movie, even if it is 1000000000 times better than the any of The Avengers movie.
WB has all ready put money into films past BvS. They won't quit if it did fail. They probably would if both BvS and SS did. But financially, there's almost no chane of either happening. Look at the youtube views for the trailers all ready.
Critics don't matter. Transformers movies have been sh!t on left and right ,but people still go out in herds to watch and enjoy them.
