Is it possible for big batman fans (or fanboys) to like superman?

Batman/Bruce Wayne is my favorite fictional character of all time, followed closely by Superman/Kal El/Clark Kent. I currently read Batman, Batman and Robin, Detective Comics, Batman Eternal, Batman Superman, Superman, Action Comics, Superman Wonder Woman, Superman Unchained, Injustice, Justice League, Justice League 3000, Futures End and anything else that these two feature in prominently. Plus a few of my favorite books ever are Year One, Hush, All Star Superman, Red Son, and the entire Superman Batman run. I own all the Batman movies from West to Bale; all the Superman movies from Reeve to Cavil; the entire DCAU (including Static Shock and The Zeta Project); all the animated movies; multiple video games from the NES era (Batman, Superman) all the way up to the current PS4 era (Injustice) starring both characters; a few action figures of each and various articles of clothing with their respective symbols adorning them.

So, to answer the OP's question, yes, it is very much possible to be a huge Batman fan and also be a huge Superman fan. They're best friends, brothers, really. They are the World's Finest hero team. The better question is how could you like one, but not the other?

I respect Superman immensely and I'm a huge Batman fan. I'll also admit that, 8/10 times, Superman would murder Batman even if Batman has prep.

I am a big Batman fan but I love Superman just as well.

When Batman himself respects superman, the fans have no reason not to, unless jealousy strikes.

I like superman, i would actually consider myself a superman fan as well.

Most Batman fans like Superman and vice versa. I grew up in the 70s and these were the first two characters, along with Hulk and Wonder Woman, I was introduced to........I don't actually know of anyone who loves Batman and hates Superman....

@thorson: I actually haven't been able to like Superman since I was a kid and recently someone on here got me to read Year One and I've found a new interest in Supes and may very well become a fan soon.

Because Superman remind us of the aliens that live around us, but he is a force of good that will save us from our problems.

Any big fan of Batman usually likes Superman at least for his association and friendship with Batman. That's what really made me start to respect the character. I never cared for Superman too much, but the more I got to know about his relationship with Batman, the more interested I got in him. Now, I haven't read a lot of Superman or really go out of my way to read Superman, but I have liked what I've read.

Well, as someone who regards Batman as his second favorite superhero behind Spider-Man and one of his all-time favorite fictional characters, I believe I can say that yes, it is possible to be a huge Batman fan and also like Superman, considering that, while I am not a huge Superman fan, I think the character decent. And honestly, what problems I have with Superman really have nothing to do with Batman, so...yeah. I think it's possible to like both.

That's not fully true. Most of the Nolanoids hate Superman because he doesn't fit into their 'realistic' world. I Am a Batman fan and I like both heroes. One is a detective and the other is a fighter. Superman is the physical superior and Batman is the tactical superior and both are considered world's finest by DC. I like both of them.

Completely possible. I'm the biggest Batman fan ever. He is my favorite character of anything (show, movie, book, etc) but I still like Superman, and appreciate him as a cool hero too. That doesn't mean I'm going to like him as much as Batman or think he is as cool but I still like him.

I think Batman with prep can beat Superman, with ease too.

I think Batman's stories are more entertaining, be it in his home turf or with the Justice League.

I'm a batman fanboy and love superman! Batman is dark and shrouded in mystery and has to use his agility and martial art skill to coupled with his gadgets and intellect to take down his villains. Superman on the other hand, is a more upbeat hero, who's almost limitless strength, speed and powers allow him to stop crime in broad daylight and go to to toe with villains who could destroy the earth. They are both on different sides of the superhero spectrum but equally like able

I like Superman, depending on how he is written and of course who's the artist.

I like all characters it is pretty easy and what makes a great story about the team they are on.

How can you not like them all?
