I don't want this to be a battle thread. I'm just curious, if there were to be a story written with Batman Ironman (or if it makes it easier, a different character with functionally identical abilities), how would it play out? How would he do it? What could he use?
How would Batman beat Iron man?
I believe in order for Batman to win decisively, there needs to be more that one round with time to prepare. Tony would win the first battle. However Bruce will probably realize early on that he cannot possibly win this fight so instead he fights in a way as to test the upper limits of the suit. Using the information gathered from his loss he would engineer his own suit to match what Tony's can do. Because the suits are now somewhat equal batman' s superior training and tactical mind give him the edge. The only problem is that subsequent battles would be battles of escalation meaning the possibility of infinite progression causing a stalemate. Based on these facts it would be a loss for bruce based solely off the first round.
I feel like the obvious way is to compromise his vision. Iron man would be hesitant to go all out with force, and Batman would likely realize that he is not a great fighter and his strength is the suit. From there it's a matter of finding a way to compromise the helmet. Blast a whole in the front of it and get a solid shot to the face, and it's pretty easy from there.
@MrShway88: Well cant bruce sneak into stark enterprises super easily and then scim over the blue prints of download the blue prints to the batcomputer and he could improve the insider or make a better suit than tony's? That's just how i see it playing out

@TheCannon: This isn't about a battle. It's about how a good stoy could be written with Batman beating Ironman. Given his feats I don't believe it is out of the question, it would just require good writing.
If arkham asylum/city feats are in play he could use detective mode.

He doesn't. Iron Man beats him with absolute ease.
So you're saying there's literally nothing Batman could possibly do to defeat Iron Man...

He'd probably pull one of these:
Yup! If punisher can sneak up to tony and steal his suit, batman can... well batman can get in the suit, take a dump inside and put itch powder inside and leave as if he was never there.
Hmm.. Good question, Bats would size him up, check out his patterns and such and edge out an opening for a decisive strike
.... You guys do understand, if you guys are gonna give batman prep time ironman should get some to right? This battle can go only 2 ways. They will stalemate. Their prep time would continually cancel eachothers plans. Ironman would jus keep making new suits. Batman would just keep making more gadgets,
OR ironman says enough is enough and simply shots batman, wuth mini rocket, plusors, etc
As soon as they meet Bats is gonna quickly find out tony LOVES to talk. He'll play on his narcissistic tendencys and then psycologically weaken tony then with his gadgets finish him, or get tony to get out of the suit for an easy win. All bruce has to do is play on tonys narcissim to get him out of the suit
Seducing him and getting half his fortune off their divorce while sending tony into a downward spiral of depression followed by excessive drinking

Because who are you to say that Batman would never win against Tony Stark? This is nonsense.
I guess that was addressed to me? Now I didn't actually said Batman wouldn't win did I? But why is it nonsense that Batman would lose? It is just that Batman fanboys believes Batman will always win. The whole premises of this topic is based more or less on that Batman can beat everyone or at least Iron Man. Instead of normally go be the premises of what would happen if X and Y have a fight. When it is batman batfanboys goes Batman won how did he do it? The have automatic jump a stead head in building a normal rational argument. Therefore the claim is Batman will always will build and false premises because Batman is never really aloud to lose. Because how dare you make a good story were Batman lose. is asking 2 + 2 = 5 (or any random number including 4) how did that happen? You can never give a good answer to that one because there is not a correct answer. The answer should instead be what would happen if Batman and X meet and how could we make that a good story.
- I'd say he doesn't.
- It's definitely possible (i suppose), but Iron man has certain advantages straight out of the box.

Meh. He has a more powerful suit, but it is also his weakness. Batman is a better strategist, tactician and I scientist. Tony is a better engineer, but I don't think that's enough.

- I agree for the most part. The outcome also depends on the situation and the criteria of the encounter and what gear the two of them happen to have on(well, this is just more criteria i suppose).
- Additionally, if we are talking about a written crossover it would depend on the writer as well.
@thejman251: OK. So the idea with this thread is that Batman already won, it isn't a battle thread. So given that he has already won, what is a way, any way, he would have done so?
With EMP or Magnetic Disruptors.....
That's my point.
