Batman endgame #1, do i need the books before it?

I found Batman endgame 3,4,5 and 6 (issues 37,38,39 and 40) at walmart so I bought them, and I haven't read them yet because i don't want to spoil 1 and 2, but if i buy 1 and 2, will i understand whats going on? I haven't read any of the new 52 Batman books so should i buy ALL the comics before, or will endgame #1 make sense on it's own?

@woodwardliam238: you can buy issue 1 forward and understand. Though I would read the wookipeadia article for court of owls to understand a but more of one if the plot points but its not nessicary.
