Each week we take a close look at some comic book collectibles. That means taking it out of the package. This week, we're taking a look at another figure from the Greg Capullo Designer Series. We previously looked at the Zero Year Batman, Batgirl, and Jim Gordon figures from the line. This week we're looking at the deluxe Thrasher Suit Batman figure.

This is a big figure. It stands about 9 1/4 inches. The original retail price was $39.99. DC Collectibles had it marked down to $29.99 but it's currently out of stock. Amazon does have it available for $30.94.

It's an impressive figure with a lot of detail and articulation.

The helmet is removable, as you can see in the first pic and down below. When I first saw the figure last year at New York Toy Fair, what impressed me the most was the articulation in the fingers. It's pretty crazy how each finger has multiple points of articulation.

The other cool thing about the figures from DC Collectibles is they're all in scale to each other. You can have this figure alongside the other Greg Capullo Designer Series figures or the previous New 52 figures.

The figure is pretty solid and heavy. It stands pretty easily on its own. You might have to move the legs or feet a little to get it in a good position. But even when moving its heavy arms out, it can still stand on its own.

Even though this is a "thrasher" suit, it still have a utility belt. It wouldn't be a Bat-suit without one.

Part of me wishes there was some ankle articulation. It would make the minor adjustments a little easier. But at the same time, if they got loose from too much adjusting, it would make it even harder to position it. You do have to admire the detail though.

It's a Bat-suit but it doesn't have a cape. That would just be silly, right? The lack of cape does let you see the detail on the back. Usually figures are pretty plain on the back but this one has the look of a mech-suit as you would expect it to.

The figure is a beast. It looks great and stands tall. It's one of the more impressive figures from DC.

Then there's the helmet.

The plastic is a little thin since it has to be able to fit over the head underneath. Still, it looks good with the rest of the suit. When you remove it, it's kind of a different story.

I'm not too thrilled with the sculpt for Bruce's face. It looks more like a younger version of Bruce. It looks a little weird like this. It does make sense it'd look smaller compared to the suit. Having the helmet be removable does make it feel more like it's Batman inside rather than if it was just a solid figure with the headpiece permanently attached.

What happens when unwanted visitors enter the Batcave?

It would go pretty much as you would expect.

Batman wore this suit during the Night of the Owls arc. But with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice coming out next year, you could always pass the time trying to reenact how it might go.

Now you may have already formed your decision on how the fight might go. Superman is Superman but Batman usually has some sort of trick up his sleeve. Since this is Batman's feature, let's just let it go in a certain way.

As you're likely aware, this isn't the largest figure DC Collectibles has put out. Imagine if something like this happened in Batman v. Superman?

The Darkseid figure stands at about 13 inches tall. We featured it HERE way back in December 2012. Looks like Amazon still has a few left in stock at a slightly reduced price.

That's all the pics for this week. Let us know what you think of Thrasher Suit Batman. Have you already picked one up for yourself? We'll have another item featured next time.
